The radio wasn't made by Sainsbury, as their trade is selling food. In the old days those radio were made by 'Roberts', now they just go to China and get their name put on it. A model number would help the search, but try this

DAB radio is more computer than radio and has lots of circuitry highly intolerant of voltage surges and spikes - things that often accompany a power outage or electrical storm.
I suggest you contact the manufacturer and ask if they have a service exchange service or if they have an approved repairer locally to you.
Since I have no idea what version of the Roberts DAB Play radio you are asking about, you will need to try to find operating instructions yourself. This is the link to the the Roberts Radio Technical Help web page, which has a link to User Guides: https://www.robertsradiotechnical.co.uk/

Solution seems to be do not buy small Sony DABs, or any small ones. I have the XDR-S56DBP and have same problem. Was also cursed with 'no ensemble' error. Even worse than the Pure one I had before which lost all of the DAB facility and now only functions as an FM radio. I had a good medium sized Roberts one, but power cable split and I can't find a suitable replacement.
