Sound when u put system on shows that there problem on the motherboard, which may be either RAM,VGA or opening in addon card. I will advice to re-insert the addon cards including RAM first, if this doesn'st solve the problem replace the RAM. If not replace VGA card if not on motherboard. If this doesn't solve the problem, you have to change the motherboard.

Hello,

From what I can deduce here, it seems that you the hard drive

probably has a bad sector on it.

That clicking sound that you are hearing from the Hard Drive is

coming from the read/write head inside the hard drive.

In this case, what I would advise you to do is, unscrew the hard

drive case and remove the Hard disk from the case, connect it

directly to a system, not externally or through USB this time

around, then get a software called NTFS DOS Professional. It is a

software that works like magic when it comes to hard drive

repairs.

If you know any other hard drive utility, apart from this, you can

also use it. I just recommend this personally because that is what

I use.

Insert it into your PC, start up your CD-ROM and let your system

boot from CD-ROM.

It works through DOS, and it should be able to help you with it.

If this does not solve the problem, then I'm afraid you might need

to replace the hard drive.

And if it repairs it, I would suggest that you just retrieve all your

valuable files from it and don't fully rely on the hard drive again

because of the hardware error it has developed. Just keep using it

as a second.

If you cannot do this by yourself, just get a very good technician to

do it for you instead.

Kindly keep me posted about the problem.

Hope it helps.

Goodluck.

You do NOT need to buy a new Samsung disk-drive.
You can buy a replacement from Western Digital, or from Seagate/Maxtor, or any other manufacturer.

Take your current Samsung disk-drive to the computer-store, so that they can sell you a new disk-drive with IDENTICAL data/power connectors (either Parallel-ATA or SATA).

Prob with hard disk

IT IS NORMAL FOR THE HARD DRIVE TO BECOME VERY HOT WHILE WORKING. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU TO CHANGE YOUR RAM ONCE AND TRY. HANGING ISSUES ARE MOSTLY RELATED TO RAM.

My bios see hard but ??

it sounds like its not getting enough power you might have to get a different harddrive or another power supply, if thats not it then its a problem with the harddrive itself.

Problem in hard disk

hi Kumar, you may not have noticed it in the past, but most drives aren't 100% the capacity that is shown on the box.

There are two reasons for this:
System Overhead use and the way Microsoft counts a MegaByte (1,024,000 bytes) versus how the manufacturers count a MegaByte (1,000,000 bytes).

Hope this helps.

Go into the control panel. Press administrative tools. Select computer management. Under storage select disk management. Look for the hard drive. Make sure there isn't an additional partition on the drive. If there is you can change and delete partitions on this drive as well.
