If your computer starts wont boot into windows

test your PSU power supply unit

One bad lead can cause a computer lots of problems

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA and

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

Hello to everyone, I have been reading forums for

This is a typical sign of a defective hard drive.Your hard drive might or might not be repairable, depending on the degree of damage.
I would recommend that you use a live CD (such as this one: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html) to boot up your computer & run a hard disk diagnostic tool like HDD Regenerator. It might take several hours (sometimes days) to fix the damage. If this did not help, then you will have to replace the hard drive.

Boot system error, insert boot disk..

If you are using windows,System files(boot.ini, config.sys, autoexec.bat, msdos.sys, io.sys) might have lost or corrupted accidentally. You can fix it easily by connecting your hard disk to any other system having windows. boot from the host computer's operating system. open my computer, select folder options from tools menu. select second tab (view) scroll down to uncheck "hide protected operating system files (recommended)" and click ok. now go to C drive. Now you can see the system files mentioned above. copy all the required files to your hard disks partition's root and shutdown. now take out your hard disk and connect to your computer and re-start.
another method is to make a bootable pendrive (visit: http://www.esnips.com/doc/0882f54e-3445-41b6-830d-e43fd7d02dc2/Active+Password+Changer+-+Boot+Disk+Creator
to download application to make bootable pendrive.) copy all the system files from another computer. boot your system using this pendrive and select option 3 to exit from the menu to prompt. copy all the files to your OS partition and now reboot. this will solve your problem (you may need to change bios setting to boot from usb). for further details you can contact av_balajee@yahoo.com

Dv6700 boot up problem. power light on. When power on is pressed, the lights in top panel flash once then nothing happens. does not boot. Tried removing battery, reseating RAM nothing worked

Try taking the sys to the BIOS screen and set the defaults after that if the sys doesnt boot up do a system restore by going into the recovery manager page from F11 key on startup to a date when the sys was working fine. IF that doesnt work try enabling the low resolution mode from the advanced boot options from F8. If this doesnt work out than finally you will have to run recovery on the sys.
All the best

Missing or corrupted file C:\windows\himem.sys

If you are running Windows 95, Windows 98, type:
copy himem.sys c:\windows <press enter>
If when typing any of the above commands you receive a prompt that the file already exists, ensure to overwrite it.
Reboot the computer; if the issue continues to occur, verify that the config.sys is properly setup. The line himem.sys should read:
DEVICE=C:\Windows\HIMEM.SYS
or
DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
Additional information and examples of the config.sys can be found on our autoexec.bat / config.sys page.

Shutdown/Startup repair issue

hi dear

The process NDIS 5.1 wrapper driver belongs to the Microsoft Windows Operating System.

Description: File NDIS.sys is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers. Known file sizes on Windows XP are 182912 bytes (94% of all occurrence), 167552 bytes.
The driver can be started or stopped from Services in the Control Panel or by other programs. The file is a Windows core system file. The program is not visible. It is a Microsoft signed file. The service has no detailed description. Therefore the technical security rating is 0% dangerous.

This is a common problem experienced by many people. Just Google NDIS.sys and you'll see what I mean. For some it is onboard sound such as Realtech, others it is IRQL conflicts, and for still others such as yourself the NIC card.

One person worked around it by uninstalling the Windows driver and downloaded the manufacturer's driver.

oke
