Question about Logitech MX1100 LASER Mouse

1 Answer

Hi all. My mouse started lagging quite badly and now two days on I can't move the cursor. The button clicks register perfectly, but the cursor won't move. I cleaned the lens at the bottom carefully, and I replaced the batteries. Still no luck. Any ideas?

    Just installed newest software.
Still nothing. Buttons work, scroll wheel work just can't move the cursor.

Chances of hardware failure? How do I determine if the Laser is damaged?
I did check to see if it might have shifted in the casing but it's still sitting tight exactly where it should.

The mouse is only 4 months old.

    No problems.

    I appreciate the fast responses.
I just tried SteerMouse as well, but it doesn't even pick up the mouse at all.

Thanks anyway and have a good day.

Try updating or reinstalling the drivers...

    Downloading them as we speak.

Thing is the mouse was working fine for almost 2 months now and it just degraded over teh course of the last two days.

    I really hope it's a driver issue :)

Doesn't work on my Mac or my Win7 pc, but then again, I never installed drivers on either machine yet. (Lazy me right?)

    Thanks for the feedback though

How to install

Plug in the reciever into the computer and make sure the mouse has fresh batteries. Once you are in Windows, press the link button on the receiver. The indicator light should start blinking. Then within two seconds press the link button on the bottom of the mouse, the indicator light should quit blinking. After re-linking the devices move the mouse to see if it moves the cursor. If the cursor does not move, then move the mouse and see if the indicator light on the receiver blinks. If the device does not blink then try re-linking the devices again.

USB mouse is jittery

Try the mouse on a different surface, also be sure you do not have any light directed at the mouse - this confuses the eye. Although no mouse pad is required for an optical mouse, sometimes it helps

Acer Vista Laptop and cursor nightmare!!

Hi -
I've been having the same problem and it is MAJORLY annoying to be typing along, and have the cursor reappear on another line!

I had a heck of a time finding the place to disable the touchpad, since we use a USB mouse with the laptop. Turns out, someone else helped me find a simple way - hold down the Fn key (next to the left side CNTRL key), and hit F7. That toggles the touchpad off/on easily!

Also suggested by someone else, some mice can cause erratice behavior with Acer laptops, so perhaps try another mouse?

So far, I've been typing this response AFTER disabling the touchpad, and the cursor has not jumped around at all.

Good luck! : )
