Question about Frigidaire GLTF2940ES Front Load Washer
I have a GLTF2940ES3 front loader. It is a bit over a year old. Today we went to take the clothes out and they were soaked. We tried running drain/spin, rinse/spin...nothing. It does everything except the high speed spin. Water drains fine..."whirring" noise when it should be spinning....we tried lessening the load too, and nothing. Please help!?!?!?
Just had my frigidaire fronter loader repaired,,try the door switch ...mines wouldnt spin clothes were soaked did everything else fine... what may have happen is when the spin cycle is ready to do its part it double checks to see if door is locked but with a bad switch it sends the wrong signal and computer this the door is open so it shuts off....well gl mines is running got lots of laundry to do,.,,,hope this helps

I wonder if your machine is housed in a basement environment. We have found that the timer to allow it to rotate to other parts in the cycle swells with the humidity and the machine won't advance through cycles. Our machine too is a year and a half old, has very little use on it since it is a part time home . We removed the timer, the gear shrunk back so it turns again, but this will obviously be temporary if the basement humidity stays high.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question####
