Go to the BIOS. Just restart your computer and while restarting, keep on pressing "f2" key or the "del" key, sometimes "f8" until you see the option that you can go to setup/bios. On the Bios menu, just find there the option to disable the Chassis Intrusion detection.

Chassis intrusion messagen

This means that either the case of the desktop is open or it is not closed properly. I don't know what kind of case you use so I can't be more specific. Try to close the case (open and close again) or check for an open side. If you are sure that the case is closed and still the alarm exists, there is a way to bypass that kind of alarm, but youhave to edit the bios settings.

In case of a problem or clarification or if you want to bypass the alarm from the bios, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Asus will explain why. Open the link provided and type, P5P800-VM in the Search window on the right upper corner; http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Don't be fooled. I have installed XP 64bit and windows XP still reports 3GB.

Cheers!

Ram supported by asus motherbord p5p800-vm<green>

Memory should be same as the one that is in the motherboard . Each motherboard support only one type of memory. Search on the internet for the type of motherboard for memory supported with it. If it says other than DDR2/ DDR3 then the motherboard wouldn't support the memory. Do some searching like motherboaed p5p800 and see few websites for specification for the motherboard, check the memory specifically for the details.

Compatiblity issue..

You may install up to 4GB of DDR RAM in this motherboard. It does not use DDR2.

This is from your manual:

Dual-channel DDR400 memory support
Employing the Double Data Rate (DDR) memory technology, the motherboard supports up to 4GB of system memory using DDR400/333/266 DIMMs.
