You can only connect speakers that are amplified in some way. most tvs will have analogue (red and white) stereo output which you would normally connect to an amp and then to the speakers. Your only other option is if you are able to find PC speakers that have a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack that will fit into the headphone output on the tv (if it has one). once again, the pc speakers will need to be powered (amplified).

Use external computer speakers. Make sure to get 3.5mm speakers and not the smaller ones for the cell phones.

The sound has stopped working on our GeoSafari LAPTOP No. 8545. Help!

Hi Lisa,
What operating system are you using?
Check that sound is enabled in both the operating system and BIOS.
Check that you have the volume turned up.
If you have an external set of speakers, try plugging them in and see if you get sound. If the external speakers use a power supply, make sure you have the speakers powered and turned on. Computer speakers almost always require power to run the internal amplifier. Computers sound output is so low that regular speakers can not be used. Also, if you have a set of headphones from an iPod or similar device try the headphones. Headphones are sensitive enough to work without power.

DVD sound is very quite. All volume controls are maximum

Some laptops just have terrible speakers. My Acer's speakers are so bad that you can hardly hear them over the sound of the DVD drive spinning. I recommend investing a few bucks in a small external speaker. I personally use this speaker from Staples. Can be turned up very loud, small enough to throw into your pocket or computer, and very good sound quality.

How do you connect external speakers to a desktop pc?

if what you are trying to do is connecting a regular speakers not made for pc, it would be best to connect through a stereo receiver for most time your pc does not have enough power to drive those speakers. You will need a RCA to standard stereo head phone jack connectors (at your local radio shack). Plug in headphone jack to your sound out put jack in your pc. Connect RCA jack to your receiver's Aux, or any other available input slot(CD, Vidro, ect...) make sure to start up at low volume for it might be really loud.

How do I Connect External Speakers to Samsung LA22A450CC

The only output appears to be a headphone jack. For my television I purchased a set of IPod speakers that are designed to connect with an IPod. This set of speakers connects to the headphone jack and the speakers plug into the wall. They do not have a volume control but I'm sure there are better products (that would have a volume control) than the one I purchased, and I am sure you can find a decent set of IPod speakers that would be a decent wattage as well.

My external speakers work with my ipod but not my computer

Is the jack "on-board"? That is, on the motherboard? Or, do you have a separate sound card in your computer? On-board sound devices frequently fail . Either way, I would say you probably need a sound card. Make sure you have an open OCI slot in your computer and then go buy a PCI sound card. Oh yes, once installed, you may or may not need to disable the on-borad device in your BIOS to prevent conflicts.

Did this solve your problem? If so, please rate this. ty.

Cannot play external speakers

Try firmly pressing the iPod into the dock connector. If it works, good. If it doesn't, then your iPod may not have support for the speakers.
