Question about Transcend 32GB ExpressCard SSD, MLC 32 GB Hard Drive

Transcend 2GB Flash Drive

I bought this new Transcend 2GB Flash Drive from a local computer store, but as soon as I attach it to my computer, it indicates as an unknown device, though I'm using Genuine WinXP Pro (SP2)! But any other flash drives works well with my computer! I tried to get a replacement from the store but they won't let me, telling me that there is no warranty for the device, though every new gadget has at least 2 months worth warranty! What the Heck?!

Most of the flash drives that I have bought had a limited lifetime warranty.

Most of these devices require a driver. XP and Vista come with the popular drivers pre-installed.

Have you investigated the requirement for a driver?

I don't know about the laws where you are, but where I am located there is something called "Consumer Protection". If the dealer is a retailer, he is supposed to give you a refund, or a replacement.

I would get in touch with Transcend and complain about the dealer. Then I would put in a formal complaint to the consumer protection about the dealer.

2gb permanently locked. How to unlock when this happens?


Try to search for any tools provided by the manufacturer..because in my case I had transcend 4gb flash driver and it was locked for some unknown reason and none of the tricks from net were working for me then I downloaded a health tool from transcends site and it did the wonder.

Need to purchase a media card reader from a local computer store . Plug unit in a USB port on your computer insert card and use explorer in windows . It should show up as a drive then you will be able to transfer files from computer to card and vice versa.

go to my computer property then hardware then device manager then uninstall usb drivers and install again
if u find unknown device u must have to install proper flash drive driver

first of all transcend do not do a 32gb in V30 - so if its green then its fake - i suggest you try this link it tells you about the fake transcend 32gb - it tells you how to test with h2testw & also you can report the fake from who ever you bought - im hoping you bought via payapl so you can get your money back

Try downloading the U3 driver, if you haven't already.
First plugin the sandisk to your usb port, and then check from Windows Explorer, does your sandisk cruzer detected? you'll get a new drive letter besides your local drive or named "removable disk".
If you do see it then just do format (you'll lose the U3), copy, store, overwrite it again and again as you like.
If you still need the U3 application, pls read this:

You possibly haven't installed the driver properly.
If a wizard that comes up as soon as you plug the device in, Just let it detect the device and then go to Control Panel, and System, and Device Manager, and double click on the device driver, or if it isn't there, double click on the unknown device with the yellow exclamation mark and hit the Driver tab, Install Driver, and choose the 'Let me choose the driver' option, and navigate to where you unzipped that driver you downloaded to, and click on the driver, wait for it to finish installing and reboot.
