Well, before anything else, try scanning with a different antivirus app; like Malware Bytes or SuperAntiSpyware. Other than that, the sudden loss of both of those systems sounds to me like a MoBo problem. If you have a system restore point, try using that to rule any software installation out. If in fact is is the mobo, and you have to recover your data; you still have options. You can upload all of your important files to an online storage system; some of which, like Windows Live Skydrive are free, and others, like Mozy backup, are paid. You could also remove the harddrive, and use it in a hard-drive dock, attached to another computer, to browse the drives contents, and recover the important data before you restore the OS; the last ditch effort before replacing the mobo.

Havng a problem installing lexmark 4350 printer on windows vista ? 3.5 hrs and still nothing will print ?

Is the Lexmark software already installed in your Vista computer? What did you use to install the sofware, the installation cd or the downloaded file? Did you get any particular errors when installing?
Are you getting any error when printing?

My printer cannot retrieve application list

Hi. If you have a firewall,
especially from 3rd parties
(Norton, Mcafee, Kaspersky, etc.),
make sure to allow all Lexmark
communications to go through. Also, double-check if the scan sofware is already installed. If not, try to run the installation cd again. Hope this helps.

Installing a printer without cd

see if you can download the driver from here

when installing the printer. make sure the printer is disconnected, usually as you install the sofware there will be instructions to follow including connecting the printer as part of the sofware/driver installation.

good luck!

How do I connect it to the computer

you need a 2.0 usb cable which is apparently (oddly) not included. usually you would install the driver and sofware then part of the installation would ask you to connect the printer to the computer. don't connect the computer before installing the sofware or it may not work at all.

now if you don't have the cd you should be able to go into the canon website, search for mp370 all in one devices and you should be able to download the sofware/drivers according to the operating system on the computer where you will be installing the driver.

here's the link I found for your printer. there's a section that says driver and downloads, select your operating syste, install, connect and test.

good luck!

stuck? can you see the printer in your control panel? Is it enabled? Try removing it and then re adding it with ADd/Remove printer. Check drivers for updates.
