Ipod Nano 3rd Generation volume problems

I am on my second ipod nano of the third generation. I brought my first one in under a warranty after it had the same problem. No matter what song i listen to the volume brings itself all the way to its max. This means i cant listen to it while running or during class. Is it shot???

I have the same problem with my brand new iPod Nano 3rd generation. Every time I try to decrease the volume using the wheel, the volume goes down, but as soon as I let go of the wheel, the volume comes back to its maximum on its own accord. Whether I lock my volume or not, doesn't make a difference. It's rather annoying not to be able to adjust the volume as your surrounding sound level varies.

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

Same thing, had mine a month a the piece of S%&T keeps turing to max volume automatically. It has not been dropped, exposed to heat, gotten wet, or even used much at that.

BTW, please dont give another stupid response like, "turn the wheel clockwise", since that is the actual problem itself.

Have you checked whether there is a volume limit on the nano. Go to settings then playback and then volume limit. From there you can adjust the maximum volume you can have. Hope this helps.

Apple Ipod Nano 3rd Gen Volume troubles

Seems like a manufacturers fault on your click wheel. The new nano's have their click wheels held in place with just a strong adhesive so this one might be slightly out of place.Take it straight back as faulty. Make sure inside your headphone socket isn't red else Apple will say it's water damaged.

ITunes contains a volume leveling program that works with every recording in your library or you can select each one individually by going to the library, selecting get info with the right mouse button, select options, and change the volume with the control you see on the screen and press ok.

The first question I'm not sure. Is that the wireless network system that works with the wall outlets for power and networking?

The answer to the second question is No. You can only transfer playlists from ITunes into the IPod. Make sure your playlists are created in ITues before transferring.
