My screen symtoms are a little different on my L1975NW.

I am guessing the LED power indicator blinks green then becomes steady when the screen "turns on" (shows video). The problem is most likely a failing backlight power supply. That's why there is a 30 minute delay. Try to disable sleep mode and see whether that helps.

I unplugged my computer and turned off the monitor to save power since we were not using. Now with the computer plugged in, when I turn monitor on the green light just blinks.

Make sure the data plug is in correctly. Turn the computer on. No you can try using the power button on the monitor to power it off and on. Or you may need to pull the power for the monitor out of the plug and then put it back in.

The blinking light means the monitor is in sleep mode. They need activity on the data or signal cable before they wake up. Unfortunately sometimes they get stuck and you have to reboot them to wake them up. I have seen a few where they had failed and would not come out of sleep mode but that is pretty rare. Usually you just have to sweet talk it and threaten it a bit and pull it plug a few times and all of a sudden it will start up,

Our Flat screen monitor comes on for a few moments and turns right back off any idea why it can be doing that?

it turns on as a "self-check" but if it doesn't get a correct input signal it goes to sleep.
Or you might have it going to sleep in settings.

Check to see if the power light stays on or blinks when it goes off. blinking means sleep mode

Power on and monitor goes to sleep mode

You need to try it on another PC, alos verify if the VGA cable is good. If nothing change, then you need to open it up, first thing to look for are the capacitors in the power supply. Look for cpas with bulging top/seal, see example of failed monitors here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Computer won't come out of sleep mode.

If you are running windows vista and it is actually asleep or hibernating,Ctrl + Alt + Del should do it.It's the only way,I have found other than turn the feature off.

Stuck in sleep mode

Press the power button on the Computer it should come out of sleep mode then if it doesn't hold the power button of the computer down until the system turns completely off.

Then turn back on the computer should now boot fine. Once in windows goto control panel and select power option then adjust the setting.

Hope this helps you
