Question about Graphics Cards

2 Answers

Nvidia 8800 GT Gigabyte graphics card doesn't have any resolution options.

I downloaded the latest drivers and the computer says it reads the hardware fine. However the only resolution I can get is 800x600 and I can only ever get 4 bit color. I also can't get the ntune software to load. Is my graphics card a piece of **** or am I installing software/hardware incorrectly. System specs windows xp, intel q6600 cpu, 680i xfx motherboard, 2 gigs corsair ram.

My Haans G flatscreen was being registered as a plug and play monitor, and yes I have the latest bios for the motherboard. what's interesting though, is that the card seems to work. I just can't get anything over 800x600 in resolution and 4 bit color. It's bizarre.

My NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra has stopped because it has problems Code 43. What is Code 43 ? How to fix it ?

Code 43 means that one of the drivers controlling the 8800 notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner. Check the hardware documentation for more information about diagnosing the problem. You can also download the latest drivers for the 8800Ultra from the Nvidia website.
Just select the following for each heading:
Product Type: GeForce
Product Series: GeForce 8 series
Product: GeForce 8800 Ultra
Operating System: Whichever Operating System you are using
Language: English (US)

Then click search and finally download.
The file size should be around 80.4MB.

Hello dave, the only way you can change default setting on resolution is go to > Nvidia Control Panel > Display > Change resolution and click apply. If this option does not work you can go to start> control panel> uninstall a program and remove your old nvidia driver from you computer and reinstall latest driver again, restart computer. I hope this helps you.

Nvidia geforce 8800 gts code 43 due to vista home premium

Well if you installed the correct drivers for your video card and have the proper power supply requirements, then the vertical lines you're getting most likely indicate that your video card is bad.

Try it in another computer if available, or get another video card.
