Question about Delfield 113.28 cu. ft. Commercial Freezer Meridian MFRI3S Stainless Steel

1 Answer

There has got to be a way to change the factory preset freezer temperature on a Delfield 6000 series MCII to operate at refrigerator tempatures. Does anyone know how I can change the factory preset temperature range to go up to ~36F? Current range restricted to -5 to 10F.

Do you mean to go up to +36 degrees? If so, it just won't work correctly. The refrigerant is the wrong one to run at 36 degrees. The pressure on the "low" side of the compressor is so low that the compressor will starve for freon if you tried to change the thermostat to "warm" it up to +36. Also the defrost cycle would have to be disabled or it would jump to 50 or 60 degrees 4 times a day. It also has the wrong cap tube for that temperature. It could be done with a very expensive condensing unit changeout. Over the years I have seen a lot of people try it and nobody that I know have been succesful at it. It may be easier to find someone who wants to trade. After all a freezer is worth more dollars than a cooler. Good luck.

Delfield 6000 series 404a, need running pressure in 94 degree kitchen

300-350 on high side. Way too high. Most all commercial unit are built to live in an environment of not more than about 80. Some survive 85. Above that, it's will die due to over working and heating.

What should be my pressure on a Delfield 404A refrigerator

As a general rule of thumb, pressure on low side should equal a temperature of about 17-18 degrees if the box is not hot and a high side of ambient plus 30. Again, this is a general rule of thumb that usually gets you close enough to get a unit working providing all other things are right.

Refrigerators and freezers are almost identical except for more controls on a freezer. Just raise the thermostat to the temperature you need. If it won't adjust that high, you will need to replace it.

How do I replace the door gaskets on a Delfield Model 6051 refrigerator? I can't see how to get the plastic inner panel off to release the gaskets and there is no help in the operating manual.

from what their web site shows, all of their gaskets are some sort of push in (Dart type) or clip in on a strip. Removing the inner panel is not necessary.
http://www.delfield.com/docs/uploaded/del/Parts/dpc08.pdf
go to page 36 and it shows the construction of the their gaskets.

I am working on a delfield model 6176-s and the display board is showing error 4. what does that mean?

Wow, what a challenge.
I found what I think you are looking for.
First, this only applies if the controller is an MCII. Should be printed on the face of the control.
In their 1996 manual for 6000 series reach-ins, it states that the number "4" error code is "Continuous operation with overtemp condition." It also says "What to do." and lists "Check refrigeration system and control system."
Hope this is what you are looking for. Good Luck.

Sounds like a refrigerant restriction in the system. Recover the refrigerant, replace the filter drier and pull a deep vacuum on the system before recgarging.
