Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1 not working

I have been using w/o problems the Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1 for 1.5 yrs. Today, I used it in the morning and when I came home the mouse is working, but the keyboard keys are not working properly. No letter keys work; the number keys are reversed (1 is 9, 2 is 8, 3 is 7 etc. weather on the 10 key or keyboard row. The "0" key on the 10 key is z; and the "0" key on the number row performs a return.) The space bar is the Num lock key; the back space key is *, the left arrow key is [ ; the right arrow key is ]; the up arrow key is -; the down arrow key is =; the tab key is /; the enter key on the 10 key is 0; the enter key on the main keyboard is +; there are a few other keys that perform other functions that they are not supposed to be doing. The only key that does what is supposed to do is the Start Key. It does bring up the start menu. I have rebooted several times. I have down loaded new drivers, I have changed USB ports, nothing fixes the problem. What is peculiar is the mouse still works. Fortunately the keyboard on my lap top works, but I did not purchase a wireless keyboard to use the computers keyboard. Can you offer any assistance?

Could be spyware or a virus. Try this.........If this does not help let me know.

Turn the system restore off. System restore keeps everything in restore. Meaning......... If you have spyware or a virus, it will stay in your system. Run Spybot S&D (This program is free and is better than using msconfig as long as you go through the settings and change everything to the highest settings.) Then do the same with Adaware 2008 (sounds stupid to use 2 things for spyware, but one catches what the other one does not.). I have links on my website (tandnfamilyelectronics-online.com). These links go directly to the download so you will not get the run around. You would do good to try a program called Window Washer. This is a great program that completely cleans anything in your computer that you do not need. It will not clean out anything that you have to have. I have used this for years to clean out my customers computers and have cleaned as much as 3 gigs of trash out. If you contact me I will give you some tools that I have for free that will do a great job on your computer. I have them ready to download and I will give you the link. Window Washer free Download.

Wireless mouse and keyboard issues

If you have both sets of keyboard and mouse plugged in, turn off the computer and remove the old mouse and plug in the new mouse. Reboot and if necessary use the keyboard to login. Once windows is loaded let it detect the new mouse and then shut down again. Take out the old keyboard and reboot. You should now be able to use both new pieces without problems.

How do I set up Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard 1.0A? I am not currently using this keyboard, but would like to use it again. The last time I used it- quite a while ago- it stopped working. The problem may...

just plug it in to the system, it will work without any software installation and can be plugged in to usb without shutting down, most systems run fine with two keyboards so if it's usb, plug it in and see.

Microsoft wireless comfort keyboard 1.0A problem with games

Wireless keyboards shut down after not detecting changes in input over a time period.
This is usually Hardware related in the keyboard to base station so there is no way to fix it using the particular keyboard.

My recommendation would be to go to a USB corded keyboard which would not have to have the power restrictions that a wireless one does.

Alternately if using a first person shooter, tap the strafe keys while you are running long distances, or in racing tap a unused key to keep the keyboard in alive transmit mode.

Gateway 610 k/b & mouse unrecognized..CMOS problem??

It's not the K/M, there probably was a surge that went through, and effected the motherboard in the computer. so you can take it to your local computer shop. But, before you bring it there, back up your important files because they might have to format your HD.

Microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard 1.0A

I suppose you should reset the keyboard and mouse and maybe the access point itself. Try find small buttons on each devise and press them AT THE TIME. You may need somebody's help. Those buttos can by hidden under mouse and keyboard and should be on the top of the access point. This depend on the model, so please reffer to a manual.

I was just about to write "I have the same problem", but i think i fixed it!!!!

background: I move my wireless keybd/mouse between my desktop and laptop units.... All was fine until a few days ago when some update completely disabled my desktop... I think the wireless began malfunctioning about the same time.

Just now, I pressed the ?reconnect button? on the front of the keybd/mouse receiver then pressed the connect buttons on the back of each device and PRESTO!! the keybrd works!!!

I just typed this entire message with the wireless keybd.

I hope this helps someone
