Question about Filter Queen Majestic Canister Vacuum

1 Answer

The beater assembly on our Majestic 360 is not working. We've pressed the reset button, checked the belt, made sure the connections were complete. Suction is reaching the unit. What's our next step? Thank you.

Check the power cord going to the unit with a volt/ohm meter. The wires break, UNPLUG and take plyers and slightly squeeze the female connections, and plug in again.

BRUSH NOT TURNING AND RESET BUTTON DOESN'T RESET

Did you check to make sure that the belt isn't broken. It could be up inside the housing, so you don't see anything obviously wrong when you look at the bottom of the beater brush assembly. Remove the bottom plate and see what's happening inside there.

Beater bar makes excessive noise

Mine was making loud noises too. ratcheting sound. Probably the beater bar has dirt and garbage. I was told to take it out and give it a good cleaning, and check the belt too. I know I had a clog in the upper part of the power. It seemed to help for a short time.

I was told by a previous repair man that there is a fuse in the beater bar that needed to be replaced.

Up to my experience in my Panasonic vacuum cleaner, if the beater bar is not working this could be because the 'Carpet/Floor' selector switch is in the 'OFF' or 'FLOOR' position. In both of these positions the beater bar will not rotate. Move the selector switch to the 'CARPET' position. When in this position the beater bar will rotate once the foot pedal is pressed.

If the selector switch is in the 'CARPET' position and the beater bar is still not rotating it could be that there is something entangled in the beater bar, or the belt is worn or broken.

To check this first unplug the vacuum cleaner

Inspect the beater bar and belts to ensure that there is nothing entangled in the beater bar and that the belts are intact and are not excessively worn. If the belts are excessively worn they may slip resulting in the beater bar not rotating.

The vacuum cleaners often have an overload protection system inside the nozzle, which stops the nozzle motor when the beater bar jams to prevent belt breakage. After clearing any lint build up or jamming you may need to reset the overload protection, by pressing the reset button on the top of the floor nozzle.

There is no power to my Filter Queen power nozzle. I have cleaned the connection and there is still nothing.

There is an electrical connection at the canister end and again at the beater end. If the beater is not working it is mostly that this is where you problem is. You need to test first to see if there is power at the canister end and then at the beater end. If there is no power at the canister it could be the outlet or something internal. If there is no power at the beater end then that outlet, or the cord could be the problem. If you have power and that end then the problem is likely within the wiring in the beater or in the motor itself

Kenmore intuition non-turning beater bars, beltless model

When you press the reset button does the vac motor start but the bars do not turn? If so the drive belt may be broken that drives the bars. If so you will have to replace the belt. If the motor does not start it is possible the belt could be jammed or the motor seized or burnt out. If it's not very old check to see if it's still under guarantee.

Why is my #two motor not working and #ONE IS

Start with the obvious--a lot of vacuums have a reset button, try that first. It could be a bad switch, or a wire has come loose from the end of the switch that controls that motor. What brand is it? and is it the beater brush that is not working or the vacuum motor?

My dyson dc17 amimal's main turbine head is not working, is there a reset button or any other solution? I don't think it is the belt!

Right next to the power switch is a switch that will turn on/off the beater brush. Push firmly on this button and see if that turns it back on. It will turn itself off if it has too much resistance on it from getting tangled in something like a long carpet fiber that wraps itself around the beater brush. Check and make sure it's not bound up by something and then press the on/off button for the beater brush.

Getting power to attatchment?

There has been a recall on the hose, wand, and power nozzle. Mine just caught fire! Burned a whole in my carpet. I'd contact their customer service department and find out if yours is on the recall list.
