Have you checked the PCV system?? If its stuck in the closed position then you will lack power and turbo boost. A vehicle needs 3 things to make it run proper; FUEL,FIRE and AIR. Try that and see if it helps.

Blowing blue smoke

blowing blue smoke means burning oil. a compression test can help pin point where oil is leaking in the cylinder(s). remove all of the spark plugs and check the compression pressures of each cylinder. If the lowest pressure reading is within 10%-15%, you can assume that the lower half of the engine is Ok. one at a time, squirt a few drops of engine oil in the spark plug hole and check the compression pressures again. a big increase in pressure means poor piston rings. very little or no difference in pressure means valve train leaks. like valve guides or seals.

2002 Envoy died, no power to anything. No click when trying to start it... just nothing. What the heck could it be? I'm thinking alternator. Before it died tonight, if I were to be pushing the

Sounds like your alternator went out or not making good connection at the battery terminals, preventing the battery from being charged. If the battery does not charge, you will use up the battery energy to maintain the vehicle running UNTIL you deplete the battery. the more accesories you have on, the faster it discharges till the point of killing your ignition on your engine. You definitely have a charging issue, more than likely, your alternator went out.

Runs ok till it gets pushed ,like climb a hill, then looses power ,then dies, will start but sounds like running on 2 cylinders. will run ok again after it cools. code po171

PO171 is fuel system lean, bank 1. If you haven't changed fuel filter, I would start there. It should be in line back by tank. Follow line from tank. If you have fuel pressure tested and it's low, try filter and see if pressure increases. If no increase, and pressure still low, it sounds like a fuel pump needs replacement.

Engine will start but only run at choke or half choke and low throttle sputteres and or dies if you try to increase to full throttle and dies if you take off choke

Check fuel pump delivery for adequate flow. If when choke enrichment is applied and it runs, then dies when choke is off, fuel flow is inadequate and needs choke enrichment to compensate. Also, if engine dies or chokes when increasing rpms, this will be a symptom of too little fuel. Check fuel flow at pump, then, if flow is good, check for carb blockage, unscrew the jet and inspect, check the operation of the solenoid at the bottom of the bowl, it has a wire attached to it. Trace that wire to where it plugs in, unplug it and touch it to the positive pole of the battery, it should retract. If not you need a new solenoid that has the job of metering in gas to the inner bowl below the jet assembly.

Sounds like fuel starvation. Check for plugged fuel filter or sediment or dirt in the fuel tank. Failing that, examine the carburetor for dirt/sedment plugging it. Good luck!

1994 Grand Cherokee, 5.2 V8 shuts off when hot. Cool for an hour or 2, starts up ok for a half hour or so, then dies again. No trouble codes except 12 and 55; I pulled fuses to check them, hence the code...

Your engine computer is bad. It's a good thing that you mentioned about the check engine light dying also, as this is a classic sign of a bad ecm. I have repaired more than one of these Jeep computers, replacing the three power capacitors located inside the computer, and they have worked for years afterwards. If you don't have the skills or knowledge to repair the ecm, get yourself a rebuilt ecm unit and swap it out.

Philips 42fd9954-175 Plasma won't power up

Failing capacitors in the power supply have now failed completely.

Had never tried blow-drier as a TV service tool.

Heat changes the resistance of many parts, especially dying capacitors. Heat also causes parts to expand, such that cracked solder connections are closed up.
