I deleted the printer and turned off the computer completely. Re-installed the printer and turned off the computer again. Turned the computer on today and printer was working. It definitely wouldn't delete and install unless the computer was turned off.

Lexmark interact S605 has document blocking any further printing and even when I have unblocked previously the next document still blocks

If you're having problem with print jobs getting stuck in the print queue, it could be due to your computer's print spooler service not running. Try the steps below to fix the problem:
  1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)
  2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.
  3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Can not delete document in print q - nothing else will print

Open task manager,(Ctrl +Alt +delete) and end task on print spooler, delete the file.print spooler will restart automatically.

This works best if you have the que window open first.

Only prints one document

I would start by reinstalling the software and updating the driver. That will norrow down the problem to being hardware if it does not fix it.

Unable to print documents, simply says 'printer error'

The printer always worked or never worked ?  Windows version? For a printer to work properly it must have the correct driver installed. One that matched the version of windows that you are using.
Download and install the correct driver:

Unable to cancel a document from printing

I have a lexmark 640 and experienced the same problem today and read similar problems but noone provided a solution. Fortunately I managed to solve the problem by cancelling the job then while it was still in print queue, shut down and restarted the computer.

This worked for me.
