It's 5 years old we shut it off last night and it doesn't have power. Is there a fuse inside that maybe blown out?

There are many models of Flat TVs. What model is it?

Was there any odd things going on with it up until it wont switch on? Is power getting to it (sounds daft, but could be a cable problem)....

The fuse never died on these tv.But the fuse on the power supply board,that the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.The power supply board is dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

First check your circuit breakers. Also,If you are capable, open the TV and check the fuse inside. The power outage and the sudden spike in power might have tripped the breaker or blown the fuse. Good luck!

I have a Vizio Model P50HDTV10a and it suddenly went dead. Their is no led nothing. Its a year and 4 months old.

Is the tv still under warranty? possibly a blown fuse if you don't get anything at all, you could inspect the power area, but be aware there are dangerous voltages inside.

sound like dead battery.no power to fuses if battery dead use digital voltmeter check battery volts should 12.6 volts if not have battery charged tested.if battery 4 or 5 years old battery could be faulty.

Completely dead with nothing suggests maybe a blown or open fuse--first step would be to unplug and look for a fuse--follow the power cord.

Hi replace the fuse in the wire connecting the mains plug. It's generally located within the 3 pin plug.
If you are lucky it maybe just a fuse blown out.

My tenplus year old Toshiba 32" TV is stuck in standby mode

You have an old tv so the best problems are bad capacitors and bad grounds. Have someone pull the board and search for high voltage caps [160volts or 250 volts] with 1 to 4.7 microfarads. Should be two or maybe three and check all grounds. If the 4 amp fuse is good than the above will save your TV.

Protron PLTV-3250 doesn't turn on

May be the power fuse.
Older CRT sets had an external chassis-mount fuse holder at the rear.
Nowadays, many sets have the fuse on a power / control board inside.
If fuse is blown, renew with an identically-rated match.
This protects the TV.
