Heating elements keep coming on and off after blower turns off


Yes your sequencer is the switch to energize the elements & sometime the low speed on the blower motor. It completes the 240 volts going to the elements. The sequencer turns the elements on in stages as well as the blower, & most sequencers have numbers on the side to tell what thermal disk turns on first. The blower, & one element should be wired on the 1 & 2 terminals (this turns on first when the sequencer coil is energized & shuts off last when the coil is de-energized). If any of the thermal discs are stuck closed, this will constantly energize the element on that switch.

Do a continuity test on the heating elements, and if they're good then do the same on the sequencers or contactors, whichever you have. The sequencers (or if you have contactors turn on the heating elements). All the fan does is blow air. It blows against the heating element to put out hot air. Either your sequencers/contactor or your heating element is defective.Wait,each sequencers is connected to a fuse.Check the sequencer fuse too. Find the sequencer/contactor wherever the wire feeding the heating element is coming from.

Electric furnace will not turn off


Your sequencer is stuck. A sequencer uses a small coil to warm up the switch so that it will turn the electrical elements on one at a time instead of all at once. If they all come on at once the amp draw would throw the breaker. It is also desired to have warm air come out of the vents when the fan comes on. So how do they do it? With a sequencer:

A sequencer can have up to 4 stacks depending on the amount of coils are in the heater. Each coil on average has a value of 5000 watts. So what ya want to do is turn on a coil then after 30 seconds another coil then after 30 more seconds the fan and maybe another coil depending on your furnace size.
So in your case what is wrong? The sequencer bimetal disc inside it is jammed in the on position and therefore the heater stays on until you tun the breaker off. Replace the sequencer and party on!

Can't find cylinder head torques!!! please advice....


Torque sequence: ----------------- there are two rows of fasteners and you need to start with the middle 2 fasteners first and then work your way toward the front and back in steps. Step 1: torque head bolts #1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 9 in sequence to 10 Ft/Lbs Step 2: torque head bolts #1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 9 in sequence to 20 Ft/Lbs Step 3: torque head bolts #1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 9 in sequence to 29 Ft/Lbs Step 4: turn all head bolts in sequence an additional 90 degrees Step 5: turn all head bolts in sequence an additional 90-degrees recheck final torque in sequence. Fasteners are supposed to be replaced if they are removed since they are torque-to-yeild fasteners.

Torque new cylinder head bolts in sequence to 44 ft lb. Loosen bolts approximately two turns, then torque bolts in sequence to 44 ft lb. Turn bolts an additional 90 degrees in sequence, then an additional 90 degrees

DOHC - Tighten all bolts in sequence to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m). Then tighten all bolts to 37 ft. lbs. (50 N.m). Repeat sequence, tightening all bolts an additional 1/4 turn (90 degrees).

SOHC - Tighten all bolts in sequence to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m). Then tighten all bolts to 33 ft. lbs. (45 N.m). Repeat sequence, tightening all bolts an additional 1/4 turn (90 degrees).
