OK MY WASHER FILLED UP WITH WATER, AND EVEDRYTHING IS LIT UP AND THE TIMER IS ON, THE WASH SIGN IS LIT, BUT IT JUST MAKES THE CLICK SOUND BUT NO MOVEMENT. I CAN'T EVEN GET IT TO DRAIN IT WILL NOT AGITATE ON ANY CYCLE. I PUSDHED THE SPIN ONLY BUTTON AND IT MAKES A LOUD SOUND LIKE ITS ABOUT TO GO BUT NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS. SO EVERYTHING IS WORKING EXCEPT NO MOVEMENT. ALSO THE LID DOES MAKE THE CLICK SOUND WHEN BEING CLOSED, SO I DON'T THINK IT IS THE LID SWITCH, BUT I COULD BE WRONG. PLEASE HELP I HAVE A WASHER FULL OF WATER AND CLOTHES.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The click sound comes from a bad lid switch and/or the Timer that has gone bad & needs to be replaced. Try to jump the lid switch if it works then it is the switch that has gone bad and if it wont then it is the Timer that needs to be replaced. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Please make sure that the washer is unplugged
completely and then remove the two wires from the switch. Once it's done twist
them together and use a nut when you do this & wrap that in electrical
tape. Also check this video and this is the repair/service manual for your Whirlpool Top load which will help you for repair. Please accept the solution if
the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

    Thanks

Hello there:
The first thing you will need to check is the lid switch if you have the lid open take a screwdriver and press it in the slo tthat the lid closed on and see if there is a click when the machine is on if not this needs to be replaced but ifit does click
check these solutions i have provided below
If your washer doesn't spin or agitate on either the delicate or regular cycle, check these: Selector switch If your washer has a selector switch on the control panel, make sure the button for your selection is pressed all the way in, or set properly. Clutch assembly Many washers use a clutch and an automatic shift lever. This assembly is quite complicated. If there's a problem with it, you probably should contact a qualified appliance repair technician. Drive motor Many washing machines have multiple-speed drive motors. Though it's uncommon, the drive motor may work fine on one speed but not on another. If the drive motor has failed on one speed, you need to replace the entire motor.

    Hello there
yes i would have to say that the lid switch may be faulty this is pretty common on machine like this it really does not take much for them to go out If you feel like you can do the repair on this i would first get to the switch and try to bypass the switch wit a jumper wire and see but if it dosent than you may need to look else where and once again that is where the timer would come into play all machines wil fill even if the timer is not working but if the timer is not working and the machine is full it cant get a signal from the timer to begin agitating
or any thing for that mater ok so those are the 2 things i would start troubleshoot first
    Please keep me informed
    Best regards Mike

    Hello there
sorry it took so long to get backl to you
if yo find where the lid switch is plugged in at simply unplug the wire and get a jumper wireabout 6 to 8 inches long and place each end in one of the plug in holes this will jumper the connection and allow you conduct further tests ok

Washer temp setting changes by itself

I also have a Whirlpool washer/dryer for my condo, although I don't know the model number of mine. I had the same problem -- after it was precisely a year old, suddenly one day the hot and cold started coming out reversed. I was able to fix mine by more or less temporarily fiddling with the water pressure. What I did was one time, when the rinse cycle was running and the washer was filling up with hot water (grrrr...), I completely shut off the valve supplying hot water. So at that point the water stopped filling into the washer, and then I started tinkering with the cold water, twisting the valve off and on a few times. Then BINGO, suddenly the cold water "kicked in" and for the remainder of the rinse cycle, it filled the washer with cold water. I then turned the hot water valve back on, and since then it has been running correctly.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

It sounds like the water solenoid has gone bad or stuck closed OR timer/control knob has bad set of contacts which control the solenoid.

Washer stops suddenly and water isn't drained out

Hi tieuvodanh; Sounds like the timer has gone out. If you can advance the selector dial manualy, and the machine continues to operate as it should, then this is the problem. Replacing the timer will require some advanced knowledge of washers and the ability to use a box of hand tools. A good handy man will be able to repair this for you.
