Dripping water There is water dripping from the back of our freezer (it seems). It collects on the top glass shelves (somewhat frozen) and also down to the back of the crisper drawers at the bottom.

I have the same problem and attempted to follow the solution posted. I tried several times to open or remove drain in the back top of refrigerator. This solution must be fine if you can figure out how to do it. I can't. I have now turned off the freezer to see if that may solve the problem. Now I can't figure out how to post this comment.

I, too, have water accumulating on my shelves. If it is a clogged drain, how do I unattach it and clean it? In the back center of my refrigerator, under the freezer, is a rectangular chute?-like attachment. Is this it? How do I unattach it? THANK YOU, Nancy

We have melted the ice in the drain several times, but it just keeps coming back. My father-in-law repairs appliances and he said to put a copper wire down the drain to keep the water from freezing. This seemed to work for a few months, but we just noticed the water is freezing up again in the freezer and dripping down into the fridge. Anyone know how to permanently fix this???

I have the same problem with dripping water in the back of my refrigerator and it turns to ice, including the bottom drain compartments. Did any of the solutions offered work?

The solution to our problem was to empty the freezer. Remove the shelf and the bottom sliding food tray. Under the food tray is another shelf. There are four screws to remove the bottom shelf. Remove the four screws that hold the ice cube holder shelf. On the back there are three screws. You only have to take out the two in the middle. The upper left hand screw has a ground to a motor. Carefully remove that back plate and move it to the left. From here you can see all the accumulated ice. Turn freezer to warmest setting. Be careful now, remove accumulated ice by either using a thin bladed tool or a hair blow dryer to melt the ice. Dry up with towel and but freezer pieces back. Turn freezer to previous setting

Water dripping into the refrigerator

Sounds very common. Without seeing your refrigerator I can only imagine that you have a drain pan leak below refrigerator, defrost condensate drain line loose or missing the drain pan, frozen over drain opening inside rear wall of freezer or the defrost condensate line is blocked somewhere along its route to the condensate collection tray below refrigerator. I am not finished so plaes don't rate me until I complete. Sea Breeze

Water dripping onto back of shelves and into drawers and bottom of "designer style" frig

There is a tube at the back of most fridges which routes freezer water to a evaporator tray at the bottom.

Usually in the fridge at the top just below the freezer is a small collection cup. If that cup or tube is blocked then it will drip water into your fridge.

Let me know if that helps.

DRAIN TROUGH IS PLUGGED OR FROZEN. EMPTY FREEZER AND REMOVE LOWER TRAY TO SEE A HOLE ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK USUALLY IN THE CENTER. CHECK TO SEE IF WATER CAN DRAIN THROUGH BY POURING A CUP OF IT INTO HOLE. IF IT IS FROZEN POUR HOT WATER UNTIL IT THAWS, IF PLUGGED REMOVE THE OBJECT.

Water dripping from top of fridge then freezing under crisper's

If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me

Water on btm of glass shelves and water in bottom of frig

sounds like you have a gap in the door seal, which results in condensation forming inside unit. Use a blow dryer to heat the seal around the door and ensure that the fit is tight.

open the freezer compartment loo for ice build up on floor of frezer especally towards rear behind back panel. sounds like you have a clogged/frozen defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials)
