Sounds like to me the catalystic convertor is cloged up or when you changed the egr valve you might have hooked the vacume hose up to the wronge place on the map sensor, AS far as ur question about being clogged , if it was clogged it would give you a check engine light and the code would be egr code. i would check the cat or if you was running the A/C i would check the I.A.C valve on the throttle boddy cause if it sticks from being dirty will cause the truck to speed up and slow down and cause the truck to shut off if bad when the A/C or Defroster is on cause the A/C compressor runs when the defrost is on so i would defently check the IAC Valve if not the cat.
Sounds like a vacume leak to me. Is the mil light on and did you check for codes? When the egr valve sticks open its like a vacume leak because there is exaust entering the intake in place of air and its entering in the wrong place. Not past the mas air senser.
SOUND LIKE FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR.TAKE VECHICLE TO GARAGE LET THEM SCAN VECHICLE.IF IDLE SPEED CONTROL FAULTY.IT HAS TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED.
