2.89 minus 2.50 equals .39 (the tax amount) divided by 2.50 (the cost) equals 15.6%.
To check answer: 2.50 plus 15.6% equals 2.89
or: 2.50 times 15.6 equals .39 added to the 2.50 is 2.89

What taxes, if any, are included within a pro forma?

A pro-forma would usually include all the taxes that are payable by the vendor on behalf of the buyer. These are usually state sales taxes, or in some countries, may appear as a value-added tax (VAT) or goods & services tax (GST) applied as a percent markup of the transaction. The taxes included in a pro-forma should be those that apply to the transaction being taxed.

Is it a good? A service? A commodity, a major asset? Are there other fees & charges levied by local government that do not attract sales taxes?

The answer is:
It depends on what you are taxing, and in whose jurisdiction you are levying the tax and what rules apply to the calculation of the tax. Familiarise yourself with your applicable tax legislation.

Create a program that will the salary, no of hours work, the deduction, total deduction and net pay.

The easiest way to do this is to use Excel spreadsheet.
This is what you need to do.
Create a label at the top of each column as detailed.
Add a employee to each row under Name of employee
Then against each employee add the data and the formula in the relevant cell under each column.

The first column - Name of the employee
2nd column - salary rate per hour
3rd column - hours worked
4th column - gross pay (formula = salary rate X hours worked)
5th column - tax deduction
6th column - other deductions
7th column - total deductions (formula = tax deduction + other deduction)
8th column - net pay (formula = gross pay - tax - total deductions)

At the last row you can include a total for Gross salary paid, total Tax collected etc.

Once you have setup this spread sheet make a copy of it and save it as a template.
You can then copy this template for each new financial year so you do not have to create a new one each year, you only need to make minor changes for new employees, rates of pay etc.

Another way to make a salary program is to use Access Database. You need more skills to do this, but it can provide greater reporting capabilities.

How do i find out how much taxes were paid on a amount of 2553.12 and the tax rate was 8 percent

8% =8/100 =0.08

Your question is not clear so I have to consider the two possibilities.

A. First case
2553.12 is the taxless price (may not be your actual case)
Simple tax (to be) paid =2553.12*0.08=204.25

B Second case:
2553.12 is the total price (including the tax) and you want to find out the tax that was paid on it.

In this case 2553.12 is (1+0.08) the sale price
The tax-less price is given by
2553.12/(1.08) =2364.00
and the tax paid is 2553.12-2364.00=189.12

Examine the two cases and find the one that corresponds to your situation. Whichever it may be, your solution is here.
