Ok, what is the problem exactly? What is the model number of the TV? Are you hoping to get help locating the parts? The repair is very difficult unless you've done TV repairs before... it's very possible to do more damage than good.

Let me know if you really want to still proceed along with the info requested.

Thanks
Tim

It sounds like the tube itself is at fault, or the individual convergence ICs... My first thought would be the tube for sure. Unfortunately that is the most expensive part of the TV.. and is extremely difficult to replace yourself.

    Thanks
    Tim

Sony KP-65WV600 10/26/2002 rear projection TV. Blue gun went out and glows orange. Convergence chip is out (can not adjust convergence). Sony refuses to help saying my model is not covered by any offer....

The convergence repair if done is possible do it your self; If you have also a bad blue picture tube or some issue related to the tubes then the set is beyond any reasonable repair.,

not always easy to replace a set that cost in its day a lot of money but it is now about 9 years old and that is about average to this type of set.

Attn sd tech i have a code 2 2 how do i repair?

It means one of the two pico fuses for CONVERGENCE is blown.

I will attach photo of the fuses; they and the two convergence chips this set uses are on the middle circuit board--also a photo of a typical IC.

Parts cost on EBAY will be under 20 dollars.

Instructions tell you everything you will need and exactly how to do the repair.

Give me a email and I will send them free.

If this was helpful rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

I HAVE A 7YR OLD HITACHI REAR PROJECTION TV THAT HAS WENT VERY BLURRY--NO MATTER WHAT IS BEING WATCHED---TV-WII--ETC

GO to customer menu and with the remote select convergence--if skewed and will not move in some direction, convergence problem.

Total parts cost on EBAY FOR PARTS would be under 25 dollars.

This can be a do it yourself repair.

I am having a convergence issue with my Panasonic Rear Projection Television. Is this something I can repair myself? If I did hire someone to fix this for me, about how much would this cost?

I am the right person to talk to.

If convergence problem total parts cost on EBAY would be under 25 dollars AND I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DO IT YOURSELF PERSON TO DO THIS REPAIR.

THE instructions tell everything you will need and the best way to get at the two STK-392-110 CHIPS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED.

Repair involves getting at and replacing both chips, it does involve being able to solder--not hard on this set.

If you want the instructions here or provide a email I will if you rate this solution very helpful give them to you for free, they are based on my actual experience doing hundreds of these sets with this problem.

See attached photos of what the chips look like and what a typical convergence problem looks like.

I have a double screen , bended on the sides what is the fix??? red kind of 3 D. It is a Hitachi 52 in projection hdtv model # 53fdx20b. Aprox how much will it cost to fix? Can I fix it myself?

You can fix it yourself but it involves two things--being able to get at the convergence chips and being able to solder etc....

Not a difficult repair and total parts cost should be under 30 dollars.

Let me know if you need help as I am here to help.

I will give help and options if you ask.
