Check the drain hole/pipe. It is an autodefrost machine and the drain hole may be blocked. Sounds like the defrost is kicking in but the melted frost is not draining properly.

I have an LG french door bottom freezer refrigerator. Water is coming out of the back freezer vents and then pooling and freezing on the freezer floor. If we don't remove it periodically it leaks onto the...

This has nothing to do with the ice maker. The defrost drain has frozen over. Inside the freezer you will see that the whole back is a panel. Unplug the unit and gently pry at the top of this panel. It will come forward and then you can lift it out. unplug the fans and take the panel out. You will see the coils. and underneath the coils, the drain pan. Mine was completely filled with ice. I used a hair dryer to melt it and remove the large chunks. Be gentle. Use a turkey baster to remove excess water. Then pour some very hot water in to clear the drain itself.

the water is off the cold coil and it is doing this during the defrost cycle . it should be going down the drain in the back of freezer . to fix you need to clean the drain . use hot water and a turkey baster and clear the ice and ect from the drain . and if problem comes back you will need to add a drain heater . hope this helps mm . ps a very common problem with many brands ..

Freezer drain line and upper drain pan freezes up regularly.

sounds like your fill tube is leaking
you should be able to pull it out from the back of the machine
to inspect it
if the fill tab on the tube is facing in any other direction than down it should be straight down

Water pools at bottom of freezer, freezes and water leaks out

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove bottom shelf from fridge and remove the styrofoam..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. MY ICE MAKER FEELER ARM IS STUCK IN THE UP POSITION. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN FIX THIS? MODEL LFX25950SB LG REFRIG

Water is getting into the area where the arm pivots and freezing. This prevents the arm from dropping down when it should. I use a hair dryer to melt the ice in the area of where the arms comes out of the base. As soon as the arm drops, the ice maker will make more ice. This LG in the door icemaker is junk.

Water pooling and freezing in bottom of freezer. I've shut the valve so no water is going to the ice maker but water still collects. I can't figure where the water is coming from. Can you help? Thanks!

Sounds like the drain from the freezer evaporator coil is plugged causing the condensate to overflow and fill the bottom of the freezer then refreeze. Most freezers have a drain line from the evaporator to the bottom of the refrigerator leading to a collection pan to allow evaporation of the condensate. You may be able to access the evap condensate pan by removing the rear panel of the freezer. I can not say for sure without the specific model of the unit in question.

Water pooling underneath bottom drawers

Find the drain line from the freezer to the evaporation pan near the motor. Often the line is visible on the back of the fridge. That line is plugged either with food residue or the collection point in the freezer is solid ice. The self defrost feature melts the frost and drains it to the evap pan. If you remove the floor from the freezer area, you will see the collection point. When the line gets plugged with food, no water drains and then freezes to block the line even worse. So, if there is ice at the collection point, remove it somehow, maybe a hair dryer, and then clear the line by blowing compressed air from the bottom of the drain hose through to the collection point.

Water Pooling and freezing on floor of freezer

most likely you have a frozen drain in the freezer section so that whne your refrig defrosts the water runs out into the freezer compartment instead of the drain pan underneath. the fix is to flush the drain with warm water to clear the obstruction. the drain can be reached either by removing the cover in the freezer area or by back flushing the line from beneath the refrig.
