My washer is over flowing. It doesn't stop filling at all sometimes and other times it stops but has already over flowed when it stops. What could cause this?

Can low water pressure cause my toilet cisterns to keep running

NO
persistent running is problem valve washers either in the water level control or the flush washer under the press buttons
low pressure will take a longer time to fill but when the level is attained the water will stop flowing in

Water stops flowing while washer is filling

The hot water on my washing machine abruptly stopped flowing within the first couple of seconds. After a bit of checking I found that the fill hoses behind the washer are of the sort that automatically stop the water flow if it exceeds a certain rate. They are several years old and apparently the valve on the hot water hose has started to malfunction -- it stops the water at a lower pressure than it should.

Temporary workaround: If you absolutely MUST wash a few loads, you might be able to get it working by reversing the hose. Disconnect it from both the washer and the valve, then turn the hose around and connect it back again. The valve should not interfere with water flowing in the other direction.

Permanent fix: Replace the fill hose as soon as possible to help prevent flooding accidents. These hoses can't prevent flooding in all situations, but as they say... better safe than soggy. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Something else just occurred to me as I was writing this. Reversing the flow through the hose for a few cycles of the machine might actually help to unclog the flow-stopping valve. Before plunking down the cash to replace the hose, try reinstalling the hose in the correct direction and test to see if the water flows normally. I will try this and post a follow-up as soon as I can.

We have a Whirlpool Gas Range, model SF357PEKQ. When I start the bake feature, you can hear the gas flow, the ignitor click (about 4 times) yet there is no ignition of the gas (flame doesn't start)....

Whirlpool had some grounding issues with some of their electronic ignition ranges. Make sure your outlet is grounded first. Then you might need to make sure the bake burner itself is grounded very good against the range frame. I have put star washers between the burner and frame and tightened very tight, that sometimes helps. Also make sure the holes in the burner under the spark electrode are clear from debris. Sometimes the burning of gas leaves a residue that can stop up the holes and not let the gas flow out where the spark is hitting the burner. Hope that helps.

When my LG is washing sometimes the FE codes comes up, what does this mean? How can I fix this issue?

Hi,

This means that the washer is overflowing. This is a built in fault that turns on the drain pump so that the water doesn't get so high that it gets into the floor. If water is continually flowing into the washer you will get this problem. If this is the case the water valve is most likely the problem. To confirm unplug the washer and if the water doesn't stop flowing into the washer the water valve is the problem.

If water isn't continually running into the washer then the problem can be the water level control.

I HAVE A CODE F H THAT STOPS MY WASHER DURING THE 28 MINUTE DURING THE WASH CYCLE AND STOPS THE PROCESS WHAT DO I DO

F H shows when the water flowing into the machine( to fill it up) either does not flow when the control says to flow, or if the water continues to flow more than 10.5 gallons at one time, then the water inlet valve is stopped nd the F H is displayed.
press pause/cancel twice to clear the display. If no water is entering the washer, then chek the hot and cold valves are turned on and check for any kinks in the hoses. also, you may need to remove hoses from washer and check for dirt on the filter screens where the hoses attach.
If water entera the washer but there is too much (over 10.5 gal) then you havwe a whole host of other problems such as: drain pump slow or not working or clogged; pressure switch and small sensor hose to the tub are not dislodged or kinked; check wire connections to inlet valve and pressure switch, drain pump, flow meter, and centrol control board (CCU).
Good luck, Macgivor

Machine fills too slowly and continues to fill in whole cycle

Remove the water filler hoses at the machine and test the flow of each one. If very slow, check the inlet screens on the faucet ends for plugging and make sure the faucets furnish full flow. The hoses themselves can sometimes become restricting of flow--replace them if so. Next, check the inlet solenoids on the machine for proper flow and shutoff when the power to them is stopped. They may or may not be cleanable--replace them if they are trouble. Hope this helps!

Kenmore Elite washer will not stop filling

Dirt in your solenoids may be a problem. But other than that it could be bad solenoids in general. It could also very well be that the unit that senses the water level has a part broken. On the inside there is a tube that connects to the tub. When you add water it increases the pressure in the tube and signals the shutoff. Sometimes the connections on this tube go bad.. or the tube itself gets a hole.

Easy way to tell. Start the unit with the on/off switch. Wait a few seconds then turn it off again. If the water flow doesn't stop you're most likely looking at a solenoid problem. If the water flow stops when you turn the switch off then you're most likely looking at a problem with the water level sensor.

Water dose ot stop when washer is full. It continues to run.

If you disconnected power and water still flowed, replace the water valve. If water stopped flowing when power was disconnected, clean out tube from tub to water level switch.

Whirlpool top loader

You either have a defective pressure switch or water inlet valve. Start to fill the machine with warm water so that both solenoids on the water inlet valve (hot and cold) are activated. After about 30-60 seconds, push the timer knob in to stop water flow. If the water continues to flow, replace the water inlet valve. If this is the case, it may take a few times of starting and stopping water flow to allow solenoid to heat up and become symptomatic. If water flow stops abruptly each time knob is pushed in, you most likely have a defective pressure switch (water level switch).
