The iPod was working just fine earlier today. It was full battery and everything- but when I tried to turn it on just now it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it into my computer and docking station and both are unaware that the iPod is plugged in. Because the iPod won't turn on the iTunes and docking station can't assist.

Has the battery died and when did you notice this happen? Unfortunately you aren't able to remove the battery from the ipod touch and so your best bet if it does not charge is to check your warranty to see what it covers. You may also try to have it repaired by Apple through their website.
I had a simmilar problem earlier today. I'm not possitive if it works for the ipod touch, but try to hold down the center button anywhere from 3 to 30 secconds. With luck, this will turn on the device. :)
try resetting your ipod by sliding the "hold' thingy back and forth once, then pressing Menu and Select at the same time(it may take a few seconds, but then the Apple logo will show up, and it should be back to normal). I hope this helps!
