Can't get full screen. tried all aspect selections. also color is off. can't get it to adjust. magic focus dosen't help. any suggestions?

Magic focus button don't work.Colors lines R,G,B mis alignment,have colors shadows picture or 3D pictures.The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv convergence board it dead,must require replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop,will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

How do i adjust the magic focus?


  • Press "Menu" on the remote select the "Magic Focus" option in the Video menu or press the "Magic Focus" button on the front panel to adjust the convergence of the three picture tubes that create the proper color for the picture. Pressing the button on the TV initiates the automatic adjustment, and accessing the feature through the Video menu allows you to choose automatic or manual adjustment, though the "Automatic" setting must be selected for the button on the front of the TV to begin the process.

    1) Receive an NTSC signal.
    2) Press Magic Focus to begin magic focus
    3) Press magic focus again during the magic focus process to get the ?stop? screen
    4) While stop screen is up, press STATUS or INFO on the remote control (R/C) to bring you to DCAM mode and
    the service grid (64 point grid)
    5) When you first get in here? I believe red is the selected color by default (it is flashing).
    6) To choose other colors to converge, use the following buttons on the R/C:
    a) ?STATUS? - Green
    b) ?0? - Red
    c) ?ANT? - Blue
    7) Start from the center of the screen and work your way out on one color at a time. I adjusted red across the

    the same with the blue next to the green. Some people recommended you should be at normal viewing distance. I
    did mine from just a few feet back from the set. Maybe my eyes aren?t as good? maybe I just felt like it worked
    better this way. There are some other posts also recommending using binoculars. I think it?s great that people
    suggest things to make the process easier? but my girlfriend would think I was insane if she saw me with
    binoculars on the couch adjusting the convergence. I don?t know? whatever works best I guess.
    8) I did not adjust the green at all. I use the green as the guide and did not adjust the location of any green point.
    This is highly suggested unless you have geometry problems.

    We cannot get the color to align. It appears like there is a blue or yellow background around words


    If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
    If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
    You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

    I have 46ux13k hitachi tv and i need to know if there is atrick to adjusting the convergence.

    1. Receive an NTSC signal.
    2. Press Magic Focus to begin magic focus

    4. While stop screen is up, press STATUS or INFO on the remote control (R/C) to bring you to DCAM mode and the service grid (64 point grid).

    ONE COLOR WILL NOT MOVE. YOU WILL NEED TO MOVE OTHER COLORS TO ALIGN TO IT.
    7. Start from the center of the screen and work your way out on one color at a time. I adjusted red across the whole screen to match green. Then I switched to blue, and adjusted that to green as well. After you adjust blue, you
    may want to go back and adjust some red again? etc. until the convergence looks good.

    Ok, I would suggest before you buy anything from anybody is to try to do a manual convergence.

    Well if you are not a repairman you should not do this kind of job yourself.
    If you decide to service your TV, remember to keep it unplugged for one hour before working on it.

    Perform full convergence procedure before replacing ICs.
    To know if an IC has blown you should test the small fuse at the base of the IC.
