I have numerous Chauvet 200b LED lighting fixtures. The problem I am having is: the "blue" LED"s on most every fixture are starting to go out. All the other colors are fine (it's just the...

Before jumping to conclusions, one should do some testing. It is posssible that you are having a DMX data error. If your lines are long, please review the need for a termination resistor at the far end of a DMX chain. The reflections of the data pulses can confuse or cause errors. Test a unit up close to your controller so the cable is short. If that magically works, install a terminating resistor.

Beyond this, electronic testing needs to be done. I did find in a Chauvet LX5 a bad solder joint at a connector that brings the power for, in my case, the green LED's. There will be surface mounted resistors on the back of the board that limit the current to groups of LED's.

If the whole fixture loses the blue at once, either suspect a DMX error or the driver in the fixture.

Just bought laney rb9 bass amp, the limiter defeater LED doesnt light up when switch is in or out. how do i know if this is working or not?

Best to leave the limiter on unless you want to blow the amp and require repairs. Limiters protect the amp and also sometimes the speakers. The limiters reduce the gain when the amp reaches the maximum swing. If the gain were not reduced the amp would "flattop" which results in the circuitry saturating and massive distortion and if this condition is sustained, components can overheat or short out requiring repair. The LED MAY be just an indicator of clipping rather than an indicator of on/off. I downloaded the manual and what I have just said is CORRECT. The LED is a clipping indicator.

There is a caution regarding this amp and the sequence to turn power on. This amp does NOT have good speaker protection and you have to have the gain control down when turning on. The limiter, if you leave it on, might help protect your speakers when powering on. Most good power amps have circuitry to disconnect the speakers while amplifier is powering up and becoming stable, this one does not, so heed the warning and for certain leave the limiter ON... It just might save the amp and your speakers.

Hi, i have a acoustic guitar and i am trying to tune it but i do not know how to use the Matrix Chromatic Tuner SR-1050

Hi
Simply turn the tuner on using the power button. Play an open string note close to the tuner (no more than about 1/2 metre away) - for instance the low E on string 6.
The built in microphone will pick up the sound and, if your guitar is reasonably close to being in tune the led light labelled 'E' will illuminate on the lower scale on the tuner along with one of the three other leds to indicate whether the note is flat (b), in tune (green) or sharp (#).
Due to harmonics any or all of these three leds may flash but it is the one that is on the most that matters.
Adjust the tuning peg until the green is on constantly when you play the string.
Move on to the next string
Note - if the string is more than a semitone sharp or flat a different light may flash (e.g if the low E string is 3/4 of a tone flat the D light will come on).
If you wish to tune your guitar to another instrument that is not at perfect pitch (and perhaps cannot be easily adjusted - like a pipe organ) you can use the calibrate button to adjust the setting of the tuner. This temporary recalibration will be lost when the tuner is turned off.

My Voodoo Lab Super Fuzz stop working. The led doesnt light, and the effect sound doesnt work, but the bypass signal is unaffected... I opened it, and test the resistences they seem to be OK... I don't...

If you are using battery, replace it. If you are not using battery, check your pqwer adapter. Internally, the pwer connectors and soldering around it are chronic problem,

I assume you have the correct power adapter to power this. It does NOT get power from the computer. Depending on what country you are in will depend on which voltage adapter you need to use.

Prefader listening light never goes out

The circuitry is a bit complex for that PFL light. The LED is driven by a transistor T38 type BC846 to turn it OFF by grounding out the current coming by way of teh MUTE LED or the MUTE switch (SW14) horts out the MUTE LED. There is a 1K limiting resistor from +15 volts feeding the two LEDS in series.

IF transistor T38 is open the PFL will be on. HOWEVER T38 will also be turned off if transistor T44 (BC846 type NPN) or if capcitor C90 2ufd/50v is shorted OR if resistor R253 is open OR is switch SW8 (PFL DPST )is not contacting the ground side of of the half tied to R247. If R247 is open that will also cause the PFL LED to illuminate...

AND if the signal coming in is at clippling level the PFL LED will light.

All that circuitry serves as a clip detector plus the PFL function.

Verify you are not sending clipping level into the channel first... turn the trim off. If not, you are in for major surgery as all the knobs for that section of the circuit board and the screws for the XLR's and the 1/4 inch jacks must come off as well as some support screws IF it is necessary to access the top side of the board... Maybe you will get lucky and the bad component MIGHT be on the bottom of the board.

Amp sound fuzzy and out of tone.

Well if you want goo dpinch harmonics to squeal you need a decent amount of gain and good pickups. What guitar are you using, some lower model passive pickups have bad frequency response when you try to do pinch harmonics. If you have decent pickups I would say get a higher gain preamp and just run the amp on the clean channel. There a re tube preamp pedals out there that have masaive amounts of gain and they are reasonably priced. There are also so good amps out there for a decent price like the 6550 from peavey. I have a 5150 block letter and that thing can produce good pinch harmonics along with my EMGs. Good luck man, oh and there is nothing wrong with your amp, it is just time to move on. There is only so much you can do with solid state amplifiers in my opinion.

Microkorg not turning on

I can tell you what it is from first-hand experience. The audio in LED's coming on and going out means that a power supply putting out more than 9 volts DC was used...or the wrong polarity. Korg sells a repair manual for about $12 but they ultimately need a whole new circuit board. If the wrong polarity supply was used, then maybe only a diode was damaged. This would be a cheap fix. But more than likely it knocked out one of the large surface mount IC's that us techs don't even dare to replace. Korg charges around $280 for a new circuit board. A used working microKorg sells for this much.

Honestly, I would stay away from Korg products and many others. Many companies are now using surface mount components which are cheaper and harder to fix. Moog synths are expensive but they are completely fixable(and are built to last). If Korg would install a $0.25 voltage regulator on the input of the DC jacks, the unit would be saved. I think this pretty much sums up the build quality. This is probably not what you wanted to hear but is how it is unfortunately.
