screen goes black and then i need to shut it off for 10 min. then turn it back on

same problem.. as described.. after its been on.. it cuts off.. have to recycle power to get it to come back on but it doesnt stay on for long...

I bought a new monitor but would like to try fixing it.

Suggest a new solution for this problem
