Question about Apple iPod shuffle MP3 Player

1 Answer

My ipod is playing out of both my headphones and the ipod itself. I can't figure out how to set it back to normal so that when the headphones are plugged in it only plays out of them unless i unplug them once again.

I had no idea that any ipod shuffle had internal speakers?
Make sure your headphone jack is completely in.

Hello I have my problem is that my jailbroken ipodtouch(2nd genertation) will not play music. It wont play sound the songs play but the sound you cant hear. Can any one help me?

Did the songs you're trying to play work previously/is it all music on the ipod? I believe if you plug the ipod into your computer and hit the restore button in iTunes it wipes everything and resets the factory settings. Seeing as jailbreaking it technically voids the warranty, there's no "official" way of fixing it - but this has worked for me in the past. It could also be a problem with your headphones or the headphone jack. Before wiping it, I'd test it with some different headphones to see if that solves your problem. You can also try a reset on the iPod itself by pressing the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. This doesn't erase anything, but it does reset the device. Since there are so many things it could be, you may want to try the less severe ones first, then back up your music and the like before doing the iTunes factory reset - then bring it in to Apple to let them know that you can't play music.

Trying to play Ipod through my Alpine cda-9811

you need to set up your system to accept aux. this means you will need to set the 'aux on', as the default setting is 'off'. use the manual and refer to page 23 & 24. please read the instructions carefully, as they are slightly confusing.

IPod Touch pauses itself

This can be caused by the audio jack, if it doesn't sit tight anymore, the headphone becomes disconnected for small periods of time causing the iPod to detect the headphone as unplugged, hence it will pause. Try different headphones, especially nickel plated ones and make sure there's a tight fit. If that doesn't help the jack needs replacement. If you're out of warranty you can send it to a third party iPod Repair Service.

Ipod classic works but no sound

This is common among the 30gb Video iPods. If you play your iPod on a Dock,
such as a iHome or other speaker device, for some reason, they like to take the
Mainboard out. Normally, if it's a headphone jack, the problem will start with
sound only playing on one side of the Headphones.

As a start, you can replace the headphone jack and see if it corrects your problem.
If not, you will need to replace the mainboard in your iPod.

HEADPHONES STOPPED WORKING BUT IPOD STILL WORKING

Oh, so there is no problem with the headphones. The problem is with the iPod.

There isn't going to be anyone to fix it back to normal without voiding the warranty except the Apple Corp. itself. Contact them with the details of the problem and they may ask you to send it back.

Headphones not playing in iPod

This is either cause by a damaged headphone socket in the iPod or a loose connection. The only way to solve it will involve opening the iPod case and inspecting the daughter board that the headphone socket is on.
