UNINSTALL the Kodak program. Reboot your pc. Connect the camera to the pc and let the pc recognize the camera and follow the wizard to download the pics.

"SAVE WIZARD PICTURE" does not launch

yes i think u all are having problems in fuji fine pix viewer i think this peace of software is not updated with vista OS so nothing to worry just try alternate source to do this

just connect usb cable supplied with camera and connect ur camera it will show up as a removable disk in my computer open it up and download the pics if u have trouble doing it , first check if ur camera is set to PC = webcam mode and other mode icon means file transfer mode u need to select this mode from menu>setup>usb mode and then go download the pics on pc as described no need for drivers

if u have trouble i can arrange for pics to do that with a diagram
if anything else i can help

pls rate me fixya if i have fixed ur problem

Where can i get the software disc from?

Have you tried to plug in the camera to the PC anyway. Windows XP or Vista should have its own pic transfer wizard or something like that. If that doesn't work see if you can view your camera thru "MY COMPUTER".

You shouldn't need any additional software, even if it came with it.

If you PC has a memory card reader then just pull card out of camera and put it in the PC.

Write protection

could be a couple things.
first: your memory card most likely has a slide switch just switch that back to the unlock mode
second:

second: from olympus guy
put the camera into play back mode. This is where you can see your picuters on the camera. Then go into the menu and try to go to card setup. This is 3rd tab. So hit ok hit right for mode menu. then hit down to you see card setup. Then hit right arrow 2 times and you will see formatt. Then go to yes and it will say caution somthing. and hit ok

Now if you have picuters on the card this will delete them so if you care about them you might want to think about data recovery. But if not try this and let me know.

"""I don't use the camedia software to download pics from the camera, neither do I use Xp's picture and scanner wizard. I simply plug my cam to the usb port and xp detects it as a USB mass storage device. I then copy the pics from the removable device displayed on My Computer window. Would you say that this method is not safe?""""

This is best way to do it i think. If you dont want to go into Cameida. The xp scanner camera wizard works good most time i dont know why it messes up some camera cards and its really random. One thing i would say. Formatt the card everytime you download your picuters. Not in the computer by right clicking on the driver, NEVER DO THIS!! will blow your card basicly. Do not delete pictuers from you computer with camera pluged it. Basicly most cameras us a diffrent file system the your computer. So that can start to mess things up. Just put the card into camera and do a format.

hope that helps.

Camera do not need drivers in NTFS systems[2000/XP/Vista] If you have put the software disc in - take it out. Simply plug the camera in - make you you have set it to upload and switched on - and Windows Scanner /Camera Wizard does the rest

I can't open because it is not a supported file

First off what type of computer are you using? MAC or PC? Second if you are using PC and installed the photoloader software that came with the camera you should be able to connect your camera and then it would open automatically to download your pics. Try changing your camera to PTP and then you can save your pics into My Photos in your My Documents folder. To change to PTP press menu while in the REC mode. Go to setup tab and go up to USB press right arrow & highlight PTP and press set. Then connect your camera and it should open up "Microsoft Camera & Scanner Wizard". From there follow the prompts to load into My Pics.
