Teh product key is the code that you need to be able to install the software, and now you also need a security code, with Office 2010.

The Product Key should be attached to either the desktop or the CD license bundle.

If the latter, and you lost the bundle, but had the OS installed with the key, you can recover it with this utility:

The keycode under the laptop is typically the Windows XP or Vista keycode. The Office keycode should be on a separate piece of paper that came with your laptop. If not, be sure that your laptop package does indeed include the full version of Office Pro 2007, and then call the laptop manufacturer. They will be able to provide you with the code you need, but you will most likely need proof of purchase.
