Are you sure that it is smoke that you are seeing and not dust or drywall dust as you said you replaced the vents. It could be dust from the work you have done. Check to be sure it is actually SMOKE and not something else. If it is smoke do not run the dryer anymore until you have it accessed .

Have LT 1536 . Smoke started coming out the exhaust but engine sounds healthy

Depends on the colour of the smoke.
Unlikely an engine will sound healthy emitting black smoke - excess fuel.

An engine could sound healthy emitting white smoke (steam from coolant) but not from white smoke (excess unburned diesel).

Most engines emitting blue or blue-grey smoke from burning engine oil can sound very healthy.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer. The door gasket is partially coming off. Can I use any adhesive to "glue" it back on? I am concerned about toxins being emitted from the heat. Thank you.

No most glues are flammable try some duct tape, small piece or you can get the tape they use on heating vents it looks like aluminum foil and is very sticky

White smoke coming out of vents

i don't think it's a good idea to inhale that white smoke, whatever fluid inside the A/C is poisonous, get your AC fixed immediately. From what I can gather the evaporator inside your compartment leaks fluid and the heater core and fan blows it up your nose. I could be wrong but if that white smoke is the same as what comes out of the receiver dryer then it is quite dangerous.

Pep boys carries the Bosch U1RT 370 sealed battery for 2002 Miata but there are no vent tubes. Are the vents a safety concern. My present OEM battery has the rubber vent tubes. Please comment/advise,...

Older lead acid batterys used to emit a lot of vapour when they heated up hence needing breather tubes. Battery technology has moved on quite a lot and most are now sealed for life type batterys which dont need a vent tube hence "sealed"

My new hot point gas dryer takes several hours to dry a med load of clothes. It has now started to gather moisture on the inside of the door, when I open it. I keep the filter clean, sometimes twice when...

Your dryer is not venting like it needs to, or the room that the dryer is located is too air tight.

Clean out the outside louver for the dryer. If you can, remove it so that you can see down the pipe. Remove as much lint buildup as you can. Go back inside, and remove the dryer vent hose from the wall, and again, remove as much lint as you can. Then do the same with the vent hose at the dryer connection. Reconnect everything, and it should start working better.

I mentioned the room being too airtight because it can happen, but is a rarity if dryer has not been relocated and problem occurs. Dryers take in room air, heat it, send it through the drum, and then out the dryer vent. If the room is air tight, then it won't be able to move much air, and cant' expel the moist air like it needs to.

Black carbon/soot on the door and lint filter of my dryer

Soot would mean lint is circulating around in your machine, and getting to the combustion area. Take the machine all apart and clean it thoroughly, including taking the cover off the fan and cleaning it too. A dirty fan will slow down the whole works. Check with your hardware store for a chimney-sweep's brush. I once bought one that could be tied to ropes and pulled up and down a flue. If they have a brush the right size, you could do that and really clean your dryer vent.

Sparks in the Dryer

Those blue sparks are coming from the element grounding out to the frame (specifically, the back side of the rotating drum). Obviously, this isn't gonna fix itself. There may be a "re-string" kit for yours, but often the only way to buy the element is to buy the whole heater assy., and w/ GE that's generally not that cheap.

Another thing (aside from cost) is the absolute nightmare this dryer is to repair. I've done probably 200 of these and I dread it each and every time. Then again, when I run these service calls I'm limited to working in the (generally small and cramped) laundry rooms that they are in... if you move it out to a garage where there's plenty of room it still won't be great, but it would be optimal.

If you choose to repair it, write back with the exact model number and I'll look up the parts and step you through the repair.
