The page scrolls up and down - somtimes even jumps up and down - when the cursor is nowhere near the right hand of the screen where the vertical scroll bar is.

It is possible you might have picked up a virus, or a bad device driver. Try a system restore taking the computer back in time before this happened, may resolve the issue.

G netbook cursor moves way too fast but i find no way to slow it down. apparently the solution is not in the help file.

The touchpad is very small on this netbook, so the ratio between the finger movement and cursor movement has to be high in order to be able to move the cursor from one side of the screen to the opposite.

The cursor cannot be too slow, because you would have to glide the finger several times on the touchpad to move it across the whole screen.

However, the speed of the cursor can be adjusted in the mouse properties in Control Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Mouse) in the Pointer Options tab. Experiment with different settings to find one that suits you.

With such small touchpad I would suggest forming a habit of rocking the finger on the touchpad to achieve better precision and control, instead of sliding it. Put a finger on the touchpad center and tilt it left/right, up/down - You'll see that the cursor can be controlled quite well this way. And if you need a larger movement, then it's enough to move the finger the normal way.

Good luck and please come back with a rating/testimonial if helped.

My mouse does not works properly/ it works slow, cursor makes little jumps, movement not smooth. Laptop samsung R40

Are you using it on a mousepad? If not, that is probably why you are getting jumpy and erratic movement. Put a mousepad underneath the mouse and you should see the cursor movement improve.

You can also adjust the mouse properties such as speed and control by going into the Control Panel and opening the Mouse applet.

Do you have the correct Dynex driver installed? If not, go to the Dynex website and download the driver for your mouse. Having the wrong driver (or a generic driver) can make a difference in performance sometimes.

Hope one (or all) of those solutions helps!

Cursor and keyboard movment responds very slowly

Does the slow movement of cursor and keyboard seen only on excel? Given that your excel is not corrupted, it just could be the file size of the worksheet you are working is too big. But if the slowness is present even on small excel file, you may consider re-installing your excel.

But if the slowness is present even on other application, then the problem could be on your pc itself.

Eratic movement of cursor using touch pad

Sounds like you have a touchpad malfunction. If its an older laptop, I would recommend replacing it. Not worth the hassle of trying to install a new touchpad...

Can i slow down my mouse cursor

Open the Control Panel. Select "Printers and other Hardware". Select "Mouse".

(Note: If you open Control Panel and it is in Classic View, just double-click "Mouse".)

Select the Pointer Options tab. (The exact tab name may differ.)

There should be a slider button to adjust the speed of the mouse. Click OK.

Thanks for using Fixya.

While I am typing on the keyboard the cursor will skip around in my document. I find that if I do not watch closeley, my indented document is a mess. All the parts are there but they are scrambled.

A couple things can cause this to happen....

1. While you're typing, your hand or thumb might be hitting the mouse area near the keyboard which causes the mouse to move around.
2. You could have some heavy resource program running in the background which slows the system down.
3. You have an infrared mouse without a proper mouse pad so the infrared causes the light to bounce around causing issues.
4. A virus :(
