Sounds like the hard drive has come loose on the bbottom of the laptop are some panels remove the hard drive panel check it is conected it may need to be taken out then put it back in making sure it fits firmly screw the panel back on try to reboot it it may be ok.
otherwise your hard drive is no good kaputt hower you may be able to recover the ifo on the drive by data recovery.

My netbook says "Operating System Not Found" every time I turn it on.

What were you doing prior to this error message ?
Did you try to install another OS or During installation did you abort the process
A clean installation of windows will resolve the issue

Or Try this

If you were able to start the computer prior to the issue, then try startup repair and check the result. To do this, try these steps.
Step 1: Perform startup repair using Vista DVD
a. Insert the Windows DVD.
b. Restart your computer.
c. Let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
d. If prompted, press any key to continue.
e. When you reach the Install Windows screen, select your preferences in the Language to install, Time and currency format, and Keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
f. Do not click Install now. Instead, click Repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
g. Make sure the correct operating system is selected, and then click Next.
h. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
i. Click Startup repair. Once the startup repair completes, click Finish to restart the computer.
j. Remove the DVD and restart the computer to see if the system starts fine. See Make system repairs from the Windows Recovery Environment

My computer keeps turning its self off before it gets to the desk top screen.

i think your operating system is crashed or corrupted. try to boot in safe mode. for boot in safe mode press f8 at the time of startup and select safe mode. if your system boots in safe mode. If its a crash of operating system then run chkdsk for c drive and select two options with tick marks. it asks to scan at next time startup. select yes and restart your system. after scan it will fixed.

Plugged in the 1TB WD My Book Essential into my Dell Dimension 3100 running windows xp and the screen goes blue and I get a error stating "Bad_Pool_Header"

here's a solution I found on google:

BSOD the Solution:

Did you install Service Pack 2? Are you now suffering from the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)?. Here is the solution. I have spent 4 days hunting down the cause of my machine crashing and have finally cracked it. Maybe other people have a different cause than mine so my solution may not work for everyone.

After installing SP2 I suffered many crashes. In particular the Screen would turn blue and display a message starting "Bad_Pool_Header". And ending with STOP: 0X000000019....

Then my four day hunt for the cause started.

BSOD Solution
Basically I found two causes of the BSOD.
Cause 1: Corrupted file or folder.
Cause 2: Microsoft Indexing Service

Possibly these two causes are linked.

Solution for Cause 1
Onen up Explore (right click the start button), and expand your directory tree, starting from the C: drive. Click on each folder in turn and see if any cause the BSOD to appear. If so, reboot, and simply attempt to copy the folder, and then delete it.

Solution for Cause No 2
Switch off Microsoft's indexing service. You can do this by clicking the start button, select "Run", then type "msconfig", then select the "Services" TAB, scroll down to the Indexing Service and Switch it off. Reboot your computer, and good luck - maybe it will work, It solved the problem for me.

At first I thought I must have a third party software or hardware conflicting with SP2, but even after I had disconnected the internet, switched off all items in the startup TAB of msconfig, was still getting the BSOD. I tried surface scans, chkdsk, scan disk etc all to no avail. I tried defragmenting the disk, but the frequent crashes may have made things worse.

I discovered the computer was now crashing after about 7.5 minutes of being switched on. It did not matter whether anyone logged in or not.

Finally I went to msconfig (Start Run, MSCONFIG) and switched off "process System.ini files, Load System files, Load Startup Items. And the comuter stopped crashing. So then I added the item back one by one until I discovered the Microsoft Corporation Indexing Service which was causing the crash. I switched it off and switched everything else back on and AT LAST... No more BSOD

Do you have a cd/dvd in the drive? (a non-system disk)

Try to boot into safe mode.

Try to restore to an earlier time.

If unsuccessful ... you may have to reload the operating system

Hi dinesh_srika,
If the Hard Drive is not detected in the BIOS, there may be some Hardware related issues with the Hard Drive. So it is better to repair the Computer at service Center to identify the exact issue and fixit.

There is no bios setting comes and also no operating system found message come and also format not star

Every computer needs a BIOS and an Operating System. The key combination to get to the BIOS is displayed on the screen for a couple of seconds at system startup. If you fail to press those keys the computer will try to start any existing OS. If no OS is found then you MUST install one to use your computer.

Computer crashed and then said operating system not found

First press F8 [or any other key that gives you the advanced option] at startup and try using "Last known good Configuration" Try going to the BIOS and select "Load setup defaults" and select "yes" if prompts for saving at the time of exit. If these two options don't work then reinstall windows.

Error code at startup

Re: windows Vista will not start I had the same problem and came across this solution that worked for me as well: 18 Aug 2009 07:28PM I was getting a the same error codes and couldn't get Windows to boot up at all. I went to BIOS set up (restart your computer and hit F12 when the BIOS screen comes up), went to onboard devices and changed the SATA Operations from ACHSI (don't know how it got there) to the factory default setting ATA. Then I started up in "repair mode" (which was an option that was coming up when I tried to boot up before but never worked) - it went through a repair check and went to login screen.
Prior to finding this - I tried several things including start up from the Reinstallation disc, but nothing worked. I was ready to buy a new hard drive, but don't have to. Works fine!
Not sure what caused the problem to start with. It is an "Inspiron 1520"
