  • Click Start and then click Network. The Network window displays.
  • Click Network and Sharing Center.
  • Verify that the network is connected to the computer. The network is connected to the computer if a red X does not display on the screen.

Connect the printer to the network with an Ethernet connection.
  • Click Start and then click Network. The Network window displays.
  • Click Add a Printer.
  • Select the Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer check box.
  • In the list that displays, select the desired printer and then click Next.
  • In the Printer Name text box, type a name for the printer.
  • If desired, click Print a Test Page to print a test page.
  • Click Finish.

Iam getting remote fax error

Please try this approach:

1. Try to resend the fax. There may have been a problem with the quality of the connection.

2. Decrease the transmission speed of your fax modem. Press Setup button > Fax Setup > Dialing and Sending > Max Send Speed > 9600. Resend the fax.

3. Re-register your user information - fax name and fax number. Some fax machines block faxes without sender information. Press Setup button > Fax Setup > Dialing and Sending > Your Fax Name (re-enter your fax name). Follow the same steps and go to Your Fax Number - re-enter your fax number. Resend the fax.

Remote panel for konica magicolor 1600 w won't open in windows 7- 64 bits

I had the same issue win 7 x64
What I did:
I removed the Remote Panel form the desktop, and taskbar and made sure it wasn't running in task manager.
I then went to the Minolta support site and downlaoded the latest version of Remote Panel V0.28 with a 12/30/09 it is a zip file. Extract all the files , and then right click Setup.exe , run as administrator. (you could try this w/o running setup as administrator). You will have the yellow K on the desktop for Remote_Panel.exe, double left click that (or right click - open). That will start the remote panel and place a yellow K in the lower right (task bar). It does not open the panel, You go to the task bar , and dbl left click to open the panel (or right click -> Open panel).

Before I did the above clicking the taskbar K did nothing. Open Panel did nothing. I now have access to the panel and now I have to learn what some of the settings are :-)

Hi my HP printer fax was working fine but now I am getting a 351 error message I rang the fax print test and everything seemed fine there

    1. On the product control panel, press the setup button (c01661990.gif ).
    2. Use the right arrow key (c01661991.jpg ) to select Advanced Fax Setup , and then press the OK button (c01335940.jpg ).
    3. Use the right arrow key (c01661991.jpg ) to select ECM , and then press the OKbutton (c01335940.jpg ).
    4. Use the right arrow key (c01661991.jpg ) to select Off , and then press the OK button (c01335940.jpg ).
    5. If the ECM is off try turning it back On
    6. Check All these other settings
    7. Press the Setup button c01661990.gif Go to Advanced fax settings and check if the Fax speed is set to medium

          We keep getting an error code 344* when we are trying to transmit a fax. What can we do to fix this?

          Error 344 means :-

          The remote machine has failed to respond to a fax command from the product because the connection is interrupted.
          The remote user has pressed the Stop button while the remote machine was receiving.
          Under rare conditions, incompatibility between the two machines can cause the remote machine to simply abandon the call.

          Solutions :-
          1. Attempt to send the fax again when telephone-line conditions have improved.
          2. If the fax session was using error correction, disable ECM.
          To disable ECM Press :-
          1. Press Setup .
          2. Press the Down arrow (c00326489.gif ) repeatedly until Advanced Fax Setup displays.
          3. Press OK .
          4. Press the Down arrow (c00326489.gif ) until Error Correction Mode displays.
          5. Press OK .
          6. Press the Right arrow (> ) until either OFF or ON displays.
          7. Press OK .
          8. Send another fax to verify that the ECM is enabled or disabled.
          Check the Phone Cable connected with the printer.
          Make sure the Cable should be connected to line 1 port at the back of the printer and it should be going directly from the printer to the wall jack and not to the Serj protector.

          Try to print a fax test page.
          1. On the control panel of the product, press the Setup button (c01361401.gif ).
          2. Press the Right Arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Tools , and then press OK .
          3. Press the Right Arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Run Fax Test , and then press OK . The product displays the test results on the control panel display and prints the Fax Test Report.
          Now Do this :-
          1. Send a one page black and white text fax to 1-888-hpfaxme (1-888-473-2963).
          2. When your fax is received by the HP Test Fax Service, we will generate a return fax to you within five minutes confirming that we received your fax. This verifies that you can both send and receive a fax with your fax machine.
          If you do not receive a return fax within 5-7 minutes, there may be a problem with the setup of your fax machine. Consult the user manual that came with the product for proper setup and configuration. Try the above steps and let me know if it works for you.

          I need to delete the name that goes out on the top of the sheet

          From your computer....Open your CONTROL CENTER for your particular machine. In that menu, on the bottom left there is a REMOTE SETUP link. If you're wired directly to your computer you'll need to access the INITIAL SETUP icon. In that window you will be able to change NAME & PHONE # (don't forget to put the area code).

          You are getting a failure sheet. This happens when the scan doesnt go through. I think you are reffering to SMB scanning, which needs to have the following setup on both the MFP and the copier.

          Host ID or NAME - IP address or hostname with DNS resolution.

          Share Name - This is your SMB share name or folder share name on the remote PC

          User Name - This is an account that is configured on the remote PC

          Password - This is the password for the account setup on the remote PC.

          Some things to keep in mind: Third party firewalls can block the bizhub from writing files.

          Set share permissions to full control. (under sharing tab> permissions buttion)

          Set NTFS permissions to at least write access. (if you have a "security" tab on the shared folder.

          Or, you may see something like "allow network users to change my files" on the sharing tab. This basically does the same under different configuration scenario.

          One last thing. If you havent changed anything since the problem started, it is probably just something like an expired password on the account that is setup for the copier.

          Error 350

          Error 350 means...
          The remote machine has failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine due to the connection being interrupted. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power outages and other power related problems.
          The call waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line.
          The remote user has pressed the Stop key while the reception was in progress.
          Under rare conditions incompatibility between the two machines may cause the remote machine to simply abandon the call.

          Try this solution...
          *Re-attempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
          *Disable ECM. Errors may still occur, and may result in a degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to transmit the entire document will be improved. (To turn off the ECM, simply press the setup button on the pritner, use the right arrow and select advance fax setup on the options. Press ok under advance fax setup. Use the right arrow and select Error Correction Mode. Press ok and select Off.)
          *Try sending at a lower transmission speed. (To lower the transmission speed. Press the setup button, go to advance fax setup. under advance fax setup, look for Fax speed. change the fax speed to slow)

          After you have done the T/S, try sending a fax again.
          Hope this would resolved your issue.
