Ktgold264,

You should be using gold plated cables. All signals for TVs are at very high frequencies and can be attenuated by any corrosion or lesser metals. Gold will not corrode or tarnish and therefore will not attenuate your signal. Yes they cost more but remember "you get what you pay for" and sometimes you don't get much! Buy the good stuff at http://www.mcminc.com . They should have what you need.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

H 20 Direct TV HD Receiver Requires frequent reset

the cabling can go bad. often, it is the hdmi cable that goes bad.

from what i'm aware of directv they can reimburse you up to 15 or $20 if you have to purchase cabling if you have the protection plan. may want to double check w/ them to find out if this is still the case. hope this helps.

How do I hook up a daewood vcr to a TV through a Direct TV

If you are trying to connect a VCR to your television and still have Directv, this is the way to do it. Disconnect your Directv receiver from your television, Then connect the VCR to the television either through coax or RCA cables. If using the coax cable connect the out to tv on the VCR to the television. If using RCA cables connect the RCA OUT to the television AV1 connection. Once that is done, connect tha Directv receiver to the VCR using either coax or RCA cables. the Directv receiver only has RCA outputs so, if using RCA cables connect to VCR in. Remember that in order to see the Directv the VCR needs to remain on and it must be on the channel line in. If using coax cable connect to the VCR where it says in from antenna. Remember that if using this method your VRC does not have th remain on to view Direct. If you're trying to record Directv, then your VCR need to be on the same channel as the Directv output channel either channel 3 or 4. If trying to record Directv using RCA connections the VCR needs to be on the AV settings. If you have any futher questions please feel free to call me at (361)510-0339

When The HDMI cables are connected, I use Directv, I have just recently started to have the picture come on and then start flickering and various color bars pop up on screen, then the screen will go black...

It is possible that the HDMI cable is defective. Did you try another cable?

It is also possible that the HDMI port on the TV is failing.

This can be determined by the process of elimination.
