Roy,
Sounds like something is causing your compressor to kick the overload. It could be the overload itself or it could be the start relay or it could be a locked compressor. Probably best to call a service tech.

VinoTemp VT60

Step 1:
It's most likely the PTC (Positive Temperature Compensated) start relay that turns the compressor on and off. The manufacturer has replaced part number P6R8MC with part number 6R8MG for this PTC start relay. Order part number 6R8MG, it cost less than $20 from AppliancePartsPro
First, unplug the wine cooler and take off the back panel. The back panel is held into place with several philips head screws.

Step 2:
Locate the compressor. You'll find the compressor in the bottom left corner of the VT-60 as viewed from the back. You will see copper tubes coming out of the compressor. These tubes carry the compressed refrigerant to the evaporator assembly. Be careful not to crimp or damage the copper tubing.
Step 3:
Find the black plastic cover to the left of the compressor. This cover is held into place with one philips head screw. Remove the screw and remove the cover to find the PTC start relay.
Step 4:
The relay is connected to the compressor by a single blade connector and two pins which protrude from the compressor. Remove the blade connector and pull the PTC relay to the left, sliding it off the pins attached to the compressor.

Step 5:
Slide the relay on the connector pins, reattach the blade connector, reattach the black pastic cover over the relay, reattach the back panel onto the VT-60 and you're done.

Compressor stopped working. I unplugged it overnight. Start in the afternoon and uses 4.8 A instead of 2.5 Amps.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

I have a kenmore elite , Mod# 71203100 mfg=10/10/2001 it worked fine since I got it ..48 hrs ago it was found to be not cooling anymore, lights go on fan's work , but compresor will kick in for 30 sec and...

I would fix it because The way I am understanding the compressor is getting hot and thermally kicking out. This could be a thermostat or a start relay for the compressor. Or it could be low on charge that will also make the compressor shut down because of the head pressure. I would check out my thermostat really close and any start relay's for the compressor. It would be about 200.00 compared to 1200.00 to replace it.
