Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hi. I have a Philips Plasma TV model no. 50pf7320, and I have not been able to track down the problem which goes as this: after replacing four 58" z. diodes on the Y "Sose" board, together with 2 fuses, the screen started displaying thin vertical lines 5 inches from the bottom. What could be the source of the problem?

You have a bad lower Y-DRV (or buffer, which ever you like to call it). If you want, you can change the IC itself... but they are usually smothered in hot glue. This board attaches to the Y-SUS that you were working on. It is common for the Buffers to knock out the Sustain board. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

My phillips tv 50 plasma hd can't show picture

Hello,

Problem is in either power supply or - my bet - the Y-Sustain board.

The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.

Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.

if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced.

hope that help out......

Blinking red light . Tv won't turn on

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.
Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired ofcourse) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 yearsinstead of 10-20. The capacitors failprematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in allsorts of devices. Here are some options for you. 1. Have it fixed by a professional 2. Open your TV and find PSB. Checkfor faulty caps. If you find some (bulgedor leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. 3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill. Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourselfit will save you hundreds. I have a tip/tutorialon this site that may also help. Itgives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It'scalled: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. Hope this helps and Good luck.Kaufman605

This is a Y sustain board and/or buffer problem. Suggest replacing both. Post the model number and I can track down parts for you if you want to DIY.

if 4 blinks is consistent and even after unplugging tv still does not power on would recommend replacing small signal board as error is i2c communication failure which is specific to microprocessor located on small signal board
