SOURCE: i own a teac hdb840

There are instances that the input cable from a settop box is unable to output a clear enough signal to the projector which is why the projector will switch over to a lower resolution that it can display. Check your cable as well as recheck your settings on the TV and settop box again. But do make sure that you check if your cable is good enough. An option would be to try it on another system if possible.

If you are having problems playing a blu-ray disc is your blu-ray player, try the following.
1) Check the firmware-make sure you have the latest version. If your BD player uses the Xross media bar, following these steps:
Press the Home button.
Select setup
Select System Settings
Press the Enter button on the remote.
Scroll down and select System Information and press enter.
The Firmware version will appear on the screen. Write this number down and go to esupport.sony.com to see if you have the latest version. Just follow the instruction to perform the update. Check out this video.....it will walk you thru the steps I just described.

Highlight Video Setup press the ENTER button
Highlight TV Type and press the ENTER button
On the remote, press the Blue button
The current firmware version of the player will display. Write this number down and go to esupport.sony.com to see if you have the latest version. Just follow the instruction to perform the update. Check out this video.....it will walk you thru the steps I just described.

3) Some BD players requre that a USB memory device is inserted in the EXT slot of the player prior to playing the movie. It's recommended to use at least 1GB. If you already are using one and run into a disc not playing, try removing the USB device and plugging it back in.
Here's a few more things you can try.
1. Reset the BD Player:
  • Remove the disc from the BD player.
  • Turn off the BD player.
  • Unplug the power cord of the BD player from the electrical outlet.
  • Let the player remain without power for one minute.
  • Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
  • Turn on the BD player.
  • Insert the disc into the BD player
2. Make sure that the Parental Control settings are not set to "On".
3. If the BD player supports the BD-Live feature, set the BD Internet Connection setting to "Do Not Allow" and delete any conflicting BD-Live date from the BD/DVD Viewing Settings menu.

Try to make use of the yellow video cable, the cable that is part of the RCA cable and try to set the TV to AV1 as soon as the video cable is connected from your BD player to your TV. Turn on your Bd player and you can now set the TV to its correct resolution. Best thing also to reset oyur bd player back to its factory settings.

Date stamp option in menu will not highlight to change it just skips past it change daye and time

For some cameras this option only works when the camera is set to a specific resolution. Some calle this resolution "Postcard" resolution, and is usually 1200 pixels width. Try setting your camera to its other resolutions to see if this ocrrects the problem. Suggest that you start with 1200 x 900 resolution. Keep in mind that this 1200 x 900 gives only 1 megapixel resolution. Most newer cameras are capable of taking much higher resolution pictures, so this may be a trade-off if you want to use the date stamp option.

Ps3 defaults to 576p when connected through onkyo 606 receiver

You have to tell the PS3 what the Okyo can do and it probably cannot do 1080P 60Hz (but can likely do 1080P 24Hz).  Try ticking more resolutions in the PS3s setup
