ok i did that but when i click on songs or albums etc. it says "there are no files on the device"

  • syn_six Nov 08, 2008

Windows Vista Media Player recognizes that the device is present, but says there are no music files present on said device. The Sansa e270 still has all the music on it that I'm trying to delete and still plays them. I've tried to open the music files through My Computer to delete them there, but the pc says there are no files, other than program files, to delete. The Sync option on the Media Player does not see any music files on the device to transfer off the Sansa. The device Refreshes Database, but will not erase the songs.

When using Windows Media Player 11 to delete, you have to look carefully at the folders on the left hand side of the window in the "Library" Tab - the first set of folders are the songs stored on your computer only. If your mp3 player is plugged into the computer and the computer recognizes that it is plugged in, you will see an icon of your Mp3 player in the list of items in the library tab. You must double-click that icon of your mp3 player and bring up your music files that way. Delete the files from there, and it will usually (not always) ask you "this will permanently delete files from your device" blah blah blah. You're there.

How do you delete stuff on your mp3 player

Your SanDisk Sansa Player does not allow you to delete files from within the player. Deleting Music Files On Your Sansa MP3 Player When your player is connected to your computer with the USB connector, you can use your computer file browser software to view all files on your player. Your player will appear as Sansa m230 or m240. Follow these steps: Playing Music 1. Use the USB connector cable provided with your player to connect the USB port on the top of your player to an open USB port on your computer. The player will appear as a Windows Portable Device on your computer. (Can’t find the USB port on your player? See The Basic Controls section on Page 3.) 2. Delete your music files to the player with software tools like Rhapsody, Windows Media Player or Napster Client. 3. To use the Windows Media Player, Rhapsody Client or Napster Client software to delete files to your player please refer to the Windows Media Player, Rhapsody Client or Napster Client help file. NOTE: While you can store and organize your audio files on your player using folders with names you select, your player will ignore folders and names. Instead, your Sansa player will extract information from each audio file so that you can use the software menu to navigate your files by artist, album title, song title, and other useful criteria.

Iriver E10.....wont play songs

well it seems you deleted your songs but not the titles. weird huh but that happened to me too. so hook it up to your computer, go to " my computer", and then right the icon that is your device, and then click format and that should take care of that.

Deleting songs.

Your DB might be corrupt. Folow the delete procedure one more time:
Delete Music Files
1) Connect your Sansa to the computer.
2) Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial
connection.
3) Select the place where you want to delete music files from
4) Highlight and delete the music file/s or folder from My Computer\Sansa
e200\...\MUSIC
folder. (You can also select from a variety of music
software programs to transfer/synchronize your files).

If that fails, go ahead and update the firmware - it will delete everything, and allow you to start over from scratch among other things.

Cannot delete or add music to iriver h10

I had this problem at first too. the only thing you have to do after it's done syncing disconnect it and turn it on. then afterward go through the options till you find database refresh and wait for it to refresh and all your new music should be in it.

My sansa e250

If you want to delete EVERY track off the player, then reformat the player in Windows Media Player - it's a shortcut - see my "tips and tricks" on formatting mp3 players

If there are artist, album traces, then you need to click on every subfolder under your device in Windows Media Player and delete every trace that way - tedious, but effective

There are 2 ways to format an mp3 player - if you were formatting the mp3 player from "My Computer," then try reformatting from Windows Media Player instead - I have a "tips and tricks" entry on How to Format an Mp3 Player for details

If that doesn't work, then double-click on My Computer, double-click on the Sansa player, and go to the various folders that it lists - music, voice, etc. Delete the songs ONLY - do not delete the dat, bat, ini, inf, or other system files

I cant even delete my music or put new music on...

Instead of deleting the songs you may need to format.

If you haven't tryed this follow these simple steps.

To format your device first click on "Start" then click on "My Computer" now look for your mp3 player, if it hasn't been change the names usually called "Removable Disk", once you've found that right-click on it then click on "Format".

Now you've formatted put songs on then try your mp3 player to see if the problems be fixed.

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful.
