Question about Vitamix 36000 Work Top Blender

Blade not spinning

Ive been using a Vitamix 3600 Plus for awhile now with no issues. Today I went to make a smoothie (I had already made one this morning with no issues) and this time the blade wont spin. I took a look at both the base and the top part and there isnt any reason why the blade shouldnt spin. For some reason the base isnt connecting with the top to spin it. Could it have overheated? It is definately still turning on ok.

My Vitamix 3600 plus has same problem. Result of detachment of rubber coupling between lower splined socket from blade shaft. This is a tough rubber molding that takes tremendous punishment through years of smoothies. Mine showed some rust on the bottom of the blade shaft, where it parted. I tried gluing back together with super glue and tried to eyeball it. Of course it was off by a few degrees. When I reassembled and turned it on, what a racket of vibration! But it held. Amazing. Obviously not good to go though. So I took assembly all apart and redid it, chucking the shaft and the lower nut in the lathe. This time, all true on axis. Glue held for about a week. Right now I am regluing, this time with epoxy. We'll see how it holds up. And meanwhilst, I'm researching replacement parts! I'm not too optimistic about the epoxy.

I found a website that sells the part you require:https://secure.vitamix.com/acb/stores/5/...

My vitamix also detached the rubber coupling. I tried different glues without success. I searched a metal to rubber glue on the internet. I found the PC-7 Multipurpose. I tried the first time by clamping it with a vise. Bad idea. It was out of place and by squeezing the glue, it did not hold well. Then I took it apart and put it in the vise, and just place the detached part on its place and with the hand rotated it to get as centered as best. I did not press. This glue requires days to cure. However, since then I have been using it for about a year and had no more problem. So, try it.

Each time we use our Vitamix 750 to make soup we get a metallic flavour that is really unpleasant. The only time I haven't had it is when making smoothies. Has anyone any idea what's causing this?

No because there is very little metal in contact with the food other than the stainless steel blade and the stainless fitting below it neither of which should be leaching anything into the food.
Have a close look at the blade and the fitting under it for any signs of corrosion.

You should write (not an email) to the Company about this issue and maybe they have some explanation because these are expensive machines.

I would recommend to invest in a high quality blender that can perform all blending operations. If you're going to blending a bunch and need high speed blender to prepare smoothies and juices quickly. Vitamix will be a great option.

Loosened blades on a vitamix 3600 stainless steel container

If what you can't see in your device, namely the motor assembly, it may be that the assembly is one of those not designed to be taken apart and that it is wearing out. If so, that could be the cause of the looseness you are experiencing. It may be unrepairable or more costly to fix than to replace. Twenty plus years is a good run for almost any mechanical device.

Contact Vitamix, find a service agent through them and have it looked at. You are only going to be able to get your motor (if you need one) through someone associated with Vitamix anyway.

I have a Vita Mix 3600. I was making a fruit smoothie (banana, blueberry, raspberry), milk, small scoop of protein powder . Speed was on 1. I depressed the lever to reverse. I don't remember if I had...

Yes that is strange, if you let it cool down and try it again with pushing the re-set button and still does not work, try plugging it into a different outlet. Find something in your place that you know outlet is working, lamp, toaster you know. If does work in another out let, then you of course griped that breaker. Then check your breaker box to see what breaker is tripped, and switch it back on, might just of had a power surge based on putting on reverse. If that don't work, I suppose possibly something in motor or switch went out. Please let me know, if it works, I will take a banana smoothie LOL
