The EX-Z57 is designed to work with SD cards, not SDHC cards. While an SDHC card will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

I have a Casio Exilim ex-z40 camera and tried to install a 4 GB memory card. The camera says "Card Error". Will this camera take a 4 GB card or should I stick with the 2 GB I have in it now?

The EX-Z40 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to stick with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

No. The EX-S600 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB.

How to solve card error when i put in an 4 gb sd card on my casio exilim ex-s600

There are no 4GB SD cards. Any card that size is actually a SDHC (High Capacity) card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Does it support a 4 GB SD HC card format?

No. The EX-Z55 is designed to work with SD cards, not SDHC cards. You'll need to stay with cards 2GB and smaller.

The card is locked

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

How big of an SD card can I use with my Casio EX-Z750 Camera? I'd like to use a 4 GB or 8 GB but was warned they may not work. Can't find this info on the Casio site, and don't want to waste money on...

The Z750 uses SD cards and is limited to 2GB cards. 4GB and up cards are SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards and do not work in devices designed for SD cards. This is a hardware issue and cannot be upgraded in firmware.

SD cards will work in SDHC devices, but not the other way around.

Casio Exilim ex-z57 inconsistent blurry pics

Are you pressing the shutter button half-way and giving the camera time to lock in the focus before pressing the rest of the way? If not, the good pictures were just luck. The size of the card has nothing to do with it.

New SD Card wont work - all the others I have do!!

I believe any SD cards larger than 2Gb are technically SDHC cards, which are not compatible with all cameras. Kingston is a decent company so I'm guessing it's not because the card is a dud. If your camera doesn't advertise SDHC compatibility then I don't think you can get the card to work in it.
