I have an intermitent problem with both of my remotes and the outside keypad. The inside keypad always works. This is very confusing as they will work just fine for days and then all of a sudden stop working? What do you reccomend?

The inside keypad is hardwired and does not use the receiver but the other items do. That leads us to a receiver problem. That is if it is a case of it just quits working and not if it has a problem like 'starts to close and reverses' or some such thing. I would pull the logic board and check for loose connections on the printed circuit. This is not an uncommon problem after electrical storms.

A wireless keypad will not work with your opener. Your opener is pretty old and the new models are much safer. You might consider replacing the entire thing.

Outside keypad will not open or close door, but the control inside works. put new battery in no help

The wall control is hard wired to the opener and doesn't use the receiver. The keypad does use the receiver. If you have hand remotes that work then it is your keypad that has quit working. Without remotes you cannot know if it is the keypad or the receiver.

Key pad not working. Garage door will open with

I'm confused about the battery you replaced inside the garage but you can try programming the keypad just to see.

Locate the smart/learn button on the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release it and then walk over and key in your 4 digit code and press enter. If this doesn't work and you know the battery inside the keypad is good, you have a bad keypad.

Locked out & Remote not working

There should be a green button on the back of the motor unit, press it for 2 seconds and then hold down your remote button until the light flashs. or for 3-5 seconds and then activate the remote. that might solve your problem

your car remote should work even from inside the garage... if not, just take it off the visor and go outside the front door and point it at your garage to open it. This is only a quick fix. You probably need to replace the batteries in your keypad or reprogram it.
