Thank you! It worked. I had been looking at my battery instead of my card(it's late and I'm not thinking) Oh my god I love you! There was a little white switch on the card, I moved it down and it was fixed!

Without more information, camera make/model and card type I can only make some general suggestions.

Some memory cards (eg. SD) have a little switch on them,
Sometimes this gets knocked into the locked position protecting the data on your card.

It maybe the switch has come loose. Make sure the switch is in the unlocked position and wrap a small amount of tape around the edge of the card if its loose as it may be locking the card is inserted and unlocking as you remove.

On a SD card, up is unlocked with the plastic tab pushed up towards the contacts

one other thing to mention is some cameras allow protection of images, this may produce an error, check your manual.

My camera says memory card protected how do i take this off

Eject memory card and flip the white switch. If that doesn't fix problem some cameras can add accidental deletion protection which first needs to be disabled

My picture card is saying no picture when i go to take a picture the card says full it wont let me take a picture??

Check AE lock custom button:

Ensure that the memory card has no protective seal or object in front of the protection area. See here.

Ensure that the files are not individually protected (Key sign in settings)

If that does not fix the problem, then the card may be defective. In that case replace the card.

Here a manual.

Remove the memory card from the camera. On the side of the card, there is a tiny button. Push it to the other side of the tiny groove on which it sits. Voila your card is no more write protected. If you are still lost, let me know.

The camera says protected card and wont let me take pictures . How to take the protected card off?

depending on the type of card you should see a little slide or something that you can move and in one direction it will say lock or something of that sort and if you slide it away from that position that should fix your problem. good luck!

My memory card in my camera keeps saying its protected

Hi there, My name is Rob and I can help you. Do this:

Make sure the camera is off and pull out the SD card. Look on the side of the card. You will see a little switch. One side says locked (or shows a little picture of a locked lock) the other side says unlocked (or shows a little picture of an unlocked lock). Make sure the switch is in the unlocked position and reinsert it properly into the camera.

This will fix your problem. Thanks for coming to FixYa. Let me know if I can be of anymore help. Don't forget to rate my answer a fixya!

Cant take photos as it says the card is write protected

Take your memory card out of the camera and switch the position of the little "lock" tab. That should fix it and you can start saving images.
