Well you need to post what wire you need to attach to the wall heater. Im assuming its the thermostat. There should be only 2 wires one goes to the gas valve and the other goes to the sensor inside the furnace. the thermostat only need to be connected to R and W. Please Post more info to help

Get a AA battery and tape a wire on each end, then attach the wires where the pilot generator wires to, mv/pv and pv usually,if it runs this way the valves good, the pilot generator makes 750mv or 3/4 of 1 volt, by the dissimilar metals in the pilot generators numerous thermocouples, they make 30mv each and are used on water heaters only now.
Dont run it with the battery if you sleep! test only.

Always shut down anything electrical low voltage or other BEFORE attempting anything. The two wires attached to the remote can be extended with longer wire and wire nuts. If you look at your owners manual it will tell you that you can hook up additional controllers (up to four I believe) and have one in each bath, at the kitchen and at the unit. Pressing the priority button at whatever remote you are at will make that remote control new temps to unit and display at all remotes.Don't get crazy with too many wire nuts!

Your white should not be the hot. Do you have a voltage meter? Your hot should go to the double. If it runs backwards swap the wires.

If it touched a grounded metal surface, it is possible, leave the wires hooked up at the furnace, pull the thermostat off of the wall, disconnect the 2 thermostat wires, and then twist them together, the furnace should fire, if it does, then the thermostat is shot. Replace the thermostat, usually when there is a short, it burns out the heat anticipator on the thermostat.
Good Luck,

Pilot lit, flue open, wall switch on. big fire won't come on?

Assuming this is a wall furnace, take a AA battery and attach one wire to each end, tape or use holder from toy at 99 cent store!!
look at the pilot assembly, 2 wires(may look like one) go to the gas valve. at the gas valve it will be 2 wires attached to the gas valve.

this powers the whole thing! simply atach the 2 wires from batt, to where the pilotwires go (not the thermostat wires, the pilot generator)
tryt now ! does it work? if not , bad valve or try connecting the two stat wies together at the furnace instead of stat doing it to test if stats bad or wires bad. dot keep using it with battery if your sleeping or leaving etc, as ,if the pilot blows out, the gas can flow as if a plt flame existed!!!
flooding gas out into a flameless environment.

Empire wall heater with wall vent pilot light

It sounds like the gas valve is dropping out. Make sure the system is venting the exhaust(no restrictions). Then make sure all your wiring connections in the unit are tight. In a millivolt system if all wiring connections aren't tight and clean your circuit will drop in millivolts and the gas valve will drop out. The gas valve requires a certain millivolt to stay open. I hope I was of some assistance!! Good luck!!

Cozy wall furnace - unattached wire, won't turn on

Sounds like one of your limit switches lost it's wire. Look for a disc like device no more bigger then a 50 piece. You will see two wires going to that and if the wire broke take off the insulation and install new plastic sheath and re-attach. Let me know it that is helpful. ken
