Hello.

While im not fimiliar with this specific model of microwave. I suspect the problem might be with the sensors, or actually buttons that get pressed when the door is closed. It sounds like some of those buttons, probably 2 or more, might be stuck on other position or faulty and would need to be replaced.

If the table starts to spin while the door is open, the microwave clearly thinks that the door is already closed.

Not getting any heat could also be a switch /button problem around the door area or then more serious.

I wouldn't recommend home repairs aside from replaceing the door switches. Also note that there may be deadly voltages inside the microwave even if unplugged.

KitchenAid Superba KEMC308KSS0 Microwave oven acting like we're having repeated powerline brown-outs, but we're not.

There is a huge capacitor inside microwaves, and that description sounds like it is starting to fail. There are smaller capacitors as well. It won't be a door switch, they work or they don't.

I had two Panasonic Commercial microwaves in a pub kitchen, one plain and one was a combination machine and both had drop down doors.

Why does the fan and turn table run when door is opened - ge microwave

I'd be AWFULLY NERVOUS about that - you don't know if the magnetron is also generating microwaves. If it IS, it can give you cataracts and/or blind you.

Microwave seems to run, but won't heat.

We have a similar problem! It sounds like a problem with the microswitch inside the unit that the door is suppose to engage when closed. If not engaged properly, it will not cook. We had the switch replaced last March but it has started acting up again. We can press in on the door and/or lift it slightly and it will cook. Try putting time on the counter and hit start. It the word "cook" appears then try moving the door slightly and see if the turntable starts turning. If not, then you may have a more serious problem. Good luck!

Whirlpool Micrwave, model #mh6150xls-1

On this model, it should be a defective secondary (top) door switch or the door switch mount.

If this switch fails to be activated, the oven will seem to run but not heat and the turntable will not work.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There may also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
