Lucent 8434DX - can't get speaker button to stop flashing

My phone was working just fine, but I had to unplug everything to move the cords and the power pack (model S01060a) to go under my desk instead of on the desk. Now the speaker button won't stop flashing, and I've lost my caller ID display. I'm quite sure I plugged everything back into the right (I tried flipping the phone lines and it didn't make a difference). Still get flashing speakerphone light. I unplugged the power supply, no change. I'm sure it's just knowing the right menu buttons to press, I just need some direction (our phone guy is having chemotherapy for several weeks). I answer phones for other staff and need to know who's phone I'm answering!

Help!!

SOURCE: caller-id quit working

This is a followup to my earlier suggestion. My caller id is working. So, the culprit had to be related to the 9V battery. Just try my earlier solution from 1/20/07. If it works..fine. If not, bye-bye to the phone.

SOURCE: Caller ID Stopped Working - Think the phone needs to be reset?

Not sure why this worked, but I went to the Menu and the Set Area Code selection. The area code setting was blank, so I entered my area code and saved it. Caller ID started to work again. As a test, I went back to the Set Area Code selection and deleted the area code and saved it. It is currently still working. Seems really odd, but it worked for me.

SOURCE: Caller ID does not work

I FIXED IT!!!  YIPEEE!!

What I did was UNPLUG the base's power unit from the wall... waiting about one minute, and plugged it back in.  That caused it to "reboot" the entire system, and the CID now shows itself.

SOURCE: HOW DO YOU SET THE TIME

The time on the phone system has been reset, but you must refresh your system.

1. Press menu button

2. Press the time/day button, which displays current time & day--wait for it to time out (in other words, the screen clears and returns to menu).

3. Press exit.

Repeat steps 2 & 3 to display your clock and check time.

THIS REFRESHES YOUR CLOCK TO THE ACCURATE, CELL-TOWER TIME.

On one of those phones, press "feature 59" That will display the release of the processor. It might be that your processor is not CID capable.

I have a NEC DTH-8D-1 Corded phone. I moved my desk and plugged the phone in at a different phone line port and the screen now reads "Initialize." What is it asking for? How do I set up my phone at th

Your extension is hardwired to 1 jack, if you plug in somewhere else you'll be lucky if the jack is active with another extension. Someone needs to re-wire your extension in the phone room to your new jack. If it won't activate but says Initialize, then that jack probably has a live fax line or analog extension, but not a digital line that works on your phone.

I have an older phone Bellsouth model 8801 wall/desk mount--the caller idea is not working in the handset--is there a battery component to fix it? Thanks

If it's the cordless version, the called ID is supposed to work off the power cell that came with the phone. If it's the corded version, there should be an access door under the base unit (wall/desk mount).

We have a lot of static and loud buzzing on the phone

I had the same issue that started on some 3 year old 5.8 GHZ Uniden cordless phones. I moved it from room to room and same buzzing. I found a older Uniden set I had kept in a desk drawer. I swapped out the power transformer (power cord) and it is clear as a bell now.

Static on Cordless Phone after Power Outage

First try plugging the unit in and out a couple of times. If that doesn't fix the problem then check the battery packs on the phone units. BTW I meant to plug and unplug power to the base unit. If these solutions don't work then most probable cause is an audio component failure due to the voltage surge on power up. This is normally when most electronics will fail. Hope this helps.

sounds like the voicemail is rebooting or was unpluged, make sure the call pilot is pluged in and the lights are on. i had a similar problem once and the power supply to the callpilot went bad. once i replaced it it came back up and worked fine.

Try unplugging your corded base unit, then replug. It should reset. Then you'll be able to go in and delete those messages.
