If the printer is not even attempting to print then the printer may be offline. Click on the start menu and then select the printers and faxes, or the printers and devices folder. Right click on the printer name and select "use printer online". If the printer is already online open the printer queue and look to see if there are any errors for the print job. Normally if the message is saying there is a paper issue, you can remove all the paper from the printer, shut down the computer and printer, reload the printer with paper, and then restart the computer and printer.
